ORLANDO, FLA (July 29, 2010) — Earlier this week, a group of Nautique employees travelled internationally for four days to spend a portion of their summer helping several impoverished families in Guatemala.

Outside of Guatemala City about 45 minutes, Nautique employees served a community whose homes were built on abandoned railroad tracks. Nautique employees provided materials and manual labor to build bunk beds from scratch. The team were guests at the community’s local church service on Sunday and also made, and distributed, gift bags for 150 of the community’s children.

This year’s trip to Guatemala follows three other international service trips the company’s employees have taken since 2007. On previous trips the company’s employees travelled (twice) to Mexico to build homes for needy families and also once travelled to Nicaragua to serve in a shelter for homeless teenage mothers and their children.

Nautique’s Board Chairman, Ken Meloon, who travelled with the group to Guatemala, said, “Serving in Guatemala with the Nautique team was an incredible experience. I am very proud of the service culture that has developed at the company my grandfather founded!”

“Guatemala was an amazing experience for everyone and this trip demonstrates the incredible kindness and service culture of our Nautique employees,” stated Nautique President/CEO Bill Yeargin. “I am thankful to be a part of a team that is not only committed to building the world’s best boats, but also committed to helping those less fortunate,” Yeargin added.

Parrish participated in a record capable tournament at the Ski Ranch in Covington, Louisiana June 12th - 13th where he set a new Slalom World Record, 2@43-off. Parrish also became the first slalom skier ever to tie the previous World Record, which he held, twice in one day behind the Ski Nautique 200!

“This is the best feeling in the world! I’ve trained so hard for this record and could not have done this with out the support of Nautique and their extraordinary new Ski Nautique 200,” commented Team Nautique skier, Chris Parrish. “The 200 is the best boat out there hands down with the softness of the wake and lack of spray allowing me more visibility going through the course,” added Parrish.

“All of us on the Nautique team are incredibly excited for Chris. Chris has stated that the new Ski Nautique 200 has taken his skiing to a new level and he proved it by setting a new World Record behind this incredible boat,” stated Nautique President/CEO Bill Yeargin. “The new Ski Nautique 200 was introduced with incredible praise and is definitely living up to its legend with this and numerous other records set behind it this past year,” Yeargin added.
