FAE void warranty

I have just been advised by Correct Craft's attorney that they have not stated that FAE voids any warranty. Fresh Air Exhaust has done extensive testing and we are totally upfront and transparent about our results. I started Fresh Air Exhaust in 2003 to protect the sport of wake surfing and protect people from Carbon Monoxide. We have over 1400 FAE installed (about 150 on Nautiques) and even with our very liberal return policy we have a less than 1% return rate and absolutely no issues with a voided warranty from any manufacturer.

I'm glad that got cleared up. I was in no way trashing FAE I think it's a great product!! I was just wanting to know if anyone else heard the same thing. With as much as these boats cost last thing I would want to do is void my warranty.

Ok, I have checked with Greg Meloon on this, and he has stated that this would fall under their exception clause, which is spelled out in their warranty documentation. He said that it would be considered the same as an aftermarket tower accessory being installed by a customer.

Exceptions:

This “Nautique Limited Warranty” shall not apply to...

• Any addition, modification or repair of the boat, or any component thereof, caused by, resulting from or in connection with any party other than Nautique orany defect or product failure caused by, resulting from or in connection with any such addition, modification or repair.

I (and I do not necessarily speak for Greg here) take that to mean that if the FAE caused an issue, and Nautique could prove it, it would not be a covered repair. Otherwise, all warranties would remain intact.

Greg also gave some additional clarification on the Surf Pipe:

For additional clarity, the Surf Pipe is standard on all 2014 G Series boats. It has been configured without an internal muffler system. For 2013 Model Year G Series boats, we have developed a Surf Pipe that is identical to the 2014 externally but has a straight internal flange that allows installation without removal of the existing internal exhaust. The 2013 design reduces the work required at the dealership for fitment on existing product. Both products have been tested at Nautique and PCM to verify proper performance. The 2013 Surf Pipe is now available from Nautique Service Parts through your local Nautique Dealer.

Greg also gave some additional clarification on the Surf Pipe:

That's funny ... Buxton told me a few hours ago that it would probably be after the first of the year before they could get them. How does one of the company's top dealers not know this?????

Can someone clarify if the Nautique surf pipe is available for the 2014 230 and can it be retrofitted to a 2013 SAN 230?
