General Question about Nautiques and Zero Off speed control

I'm new to the forum and not sure if this has already been asked and answered, but...Could someone please confirm that 2007 is the oldest model year for a Nautique that can be outfitted with Zero Off Speed Control ---- Thank You!

The Pre 2007 PCM Excalibur 5.7 Chevy engines (2003-2006) can be retrofitted and up graded to ZO. Direct plug and play instillation on 2007-2008 engines, however some early 07 ECM's will need to be re flashed to communicate with the ZO equipment. Hope this helps.

Also, on the early 2007 and prior ZR6, the flash Jody speaks of above changes the horsepower rating from 375 to 390. The flash for the Excalibur raises the HP as well, but not to the full 343 as there were other enhancements made to the 5.7 to gain the full 13 extra HP (taking it from 330 to 343) in late 2007 and future Excalibur engines.

I did this upgrade on my 2007 236 with the ZR6, and I ran ZO and PP side-by-side on that boat for about a year.

Thanks, fellas. I appreciate the input. I may be in the market for a 196 in the near future (can't swing a 200) and wanted to make sure I wasn't going to run into compatability issues with Zero Off. Looks like an 07-09 196 might fit the bill.

Is the 07 Faria Gateway Box (with PP inside) compatible with ZO? Plug and Play? Or is a different Gateway needed?

It is compatible. At least the one in my 2007 236 was.

To: teamseal and/or NautiqueJeff... You've got me thinking about the possibility of getting an 03-06 boat and retrofitting as necessary to make the engine compatible to run Zero Off.

I called Mike Genna at Pleasure Craft Marine to inquire about cost of such a conversion. He told me the ECM, fuel injection system and other components must be changed...Basically it is possible, but cost prohibitive.

Is this your experience?

I did my 02 196 in 2010. Best move I ever made! Ran me 3K at the time but was worth every penny. Is more now but 02 is the cheapest conversion because there was no gateway. Find an 02 with the Excaliber 330 engine, do the conversion and you will be $ ahead with a very sweet wake. I did the convert myself through Tim White. Jody Seal can help you also.

To Team seal or/and nautique Jeff my 2006 ski nautique has EX 330 engine with eletronic throttle control would i still need to upgrade fuel injection and ecu to run zero off cheers

I think Jody is probably still over in Australia, so I’ll do my best to answer. Yes, you will need a new eControls ECU, but I think that’’s all you need. Jody can certainly chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

Did not go to Australia this year.
2006 was a DBW MEFI system (one year only). you will need a E-control wire harness and ECM along with a few Hardware items. the 06 is the easiest to convert of all the Excalibur engines.

I may have the parts you are looking for. Convert the 330 to the 343.
