I recommend against anything but white interior. But I live in the desert and the sun is scorching. The colored areas are too hot to even stand on when the sun hits it. I find it ridiculous to splash water on the vinyl on purpose or scatter towels around covering up my vinyl to protect my feet from even being able to stand on it.

Having said that, others have their colored vinyl, and seem to be happy about it. It just is not for me...I am still hoping Trailersource will let me cruise along for a quick ride so I can check out the new changes and see how this vinyl reacts to our sun.

Well I live in VA so it's not quite as bad here. Plus, the white interior on my MC Xstar gets almost just as hot as the darker grey areas and just as un-touchable! So to me, hot is hot, and all vinyl will get hot! Granted my boat is a 2008 so I'm not sure if newer boats' vinyl is any better. I would love to hear from anybody with brown interior on how they like it. I know it's a long shot tho. I also wonder how it will react to such things as oil from lotions, spills, etc. My white interior shows lotion oil stains badly.

I looked at it when getting ours serviced and that boat looks even better in person. Our boat sits in a canal that is pretty nasty with algae and next time will probably go with something like this. A white hull is so much easier to keep clean.

Thanks for the pics Beg4Wake and Jeb1974! I just received confirm the boat is done and we're just waiting to ship. Tallredrider I'll probably have to take you out first so you can show me how to dial it in. I'll text when it comes and post pics. I've been nervous about the gray interior, but I'm glad I did it. I haven't received the boat yet, but I still think I'll love it. Can't wait!

Forgot to mention... I went with a BoatMate trailer. It's sitting in my backyard right now... looking lonely without a boat on it. I'll post pics of it as it turned out super nice.

on the boatmate- does the trailer tongue fold away? when folded is it close to nose of boat ? how far past the front of boat is the hinge point. just wondering what over all length of the G23 will be on the trailer.

Looks great! Mine will be about the same except I'm doing black instead of white (to somewhat match my truck) with the blue fenders. Does your trailer come with guide poles? Removable? I know it's been stated that they would put the overall width beyond some states legal towing width, however I drive a lifted truck and it would be hard to back the trailer in the lake using the ramp we usually do (rather narrow and long) without the boat on it if I didn't have the guide poles. Plus I don't tow too far so I'm not worried about the maximum width.

I just went through this whole exercise. The boatmate does have a swing away tongue and I think stock it's just over 25.5' with the tongue folded. They make it longer to accommodate the front steps so it is very far from the nose of the boat.) I talked to the boatmate rep and if you want to remove the the steps they can custom build one to get the trailer down to a minimum of 23.5'. There's also about 10 or 11" that the exhaust sticks out past the trailer so total length that you'd need in your garage is just under 24.5'. You can also have a welding shop modify an existing trailer if needed - you just need to buy one of the swing tongue pivots and get it re-welded.

As far as height, if you let all the air out of the tires you can just (and I mean just) fit it with 8'1". If you don't want to let the air out you'll probably need about 8'3".

We just made it in our garage with 24.5' of length and 8'1" of height - it doesn't get any closer than this.

This is all for a 2015 so you you'll probably want to verify these measurements on the 2016's. If you contact boatmate directly they are awesome to deal with.

When I get the boat I'll confirm measurement but thanks for the info Jeb1974. I'm assuming all the Boatmates are made with the 18" wheels now so there shouldn't be a variance there. 8'1" overall height? Is that right? You must be talking with tower down. With tower up it's over 11'. I'm planning on having a new garage made to accomodate long term, I'm sure a 12' high garage door is super cheap. Can't wait.

So no steps on the front?

I heard someone call that the 'Stairway to G Heaven'. I was unsure that I would ever use them, but they have come in pretty handy and am glad I got them. I've got a 12 foot garage door that somehow ended up being about 11'9", and it just barely fits with a couple of inches to spare. The trailer looks nice. I hope that the trailer fenders were a lot cheaper than what they gouged me for the stainless ones on my boat. I do know that the plain steel are a LOT cheaper, and painting them should not have been much trouble.

Yep, tower down and literally all the air out of the tires gets you into a 8'1" garage door. It's a good thing the boat only has to be put in and taken out once a year. I was also told by our dealer that you could order different rims which might give an extra inch or so but didn't verify it with boatmate since we didn't end up ordering a new one.

The steps are nice to have but it's not quite worth the $250/month for 8 months a year storage cost.

You can get 15" and 18" wheels for the Boatmate trailers.

I know for a fact that they can put g21 on trailers that will get into 8' doors easy. Measure one myself at N3. Isn't the g23 and g21 identical other than length? Not sure why the same couldn't be done for a g23 if their gunnel heights are the same.
