2004 sv211 dash shuts off after cranking for a few seconds

Just got my 2004 SV211 out for the first time this summer. I noticed that is cranked for abnormally long time (probably 5 seconds) before it finally started at the boat ramp. Didn't think much of it until the boat sat at the dock for about an hour and the next time I tried to start it, it cranked for a few seconds and then everything would shut off, like I had pushed the stop button, dash and everything went out. Did this several times before I gave up. Tried again 30 minutes later and it started fine, but still cranked for probably 5 seconds... Definitely not a battery problem cus i just bought a new battery. Has anyone had this problem before??

Make sure the ground and positive battery cables/terminals are making a good connection. My 04 216 would act similar. Found out is was a loose ground

Also, sometimes terminals can look good and be corroded internally. After the connections heat up they conduct even worse and act up more. Consider cutting off and changing your terminal ends for a cheap way to eliminate that possibility.
