Wanted: Spare tire mount for Ramlin trailer

I'm looking for the clamp on spare tire mount that goes on a Ram-lin trailer.

Thought I'd try my luck here to see if anyone had one laying around or on a trailer with no use for a spare.

    Thanks!

RE: Wanted: Spare tire mount for Ramlin trailer

I've got a brand new one....never mounted. It also has a brand new aluminum wheel and goodyear tire bolted to it.

BUT, I'm not sure I want to sell it. I have some ideas for it.

Why wouldn't you want to get one from Ramlin? They have them in stock.

Off topic - this is one **** of a website, huh? What a network.

I don't want to buy one from Ram-lin b/c they are like $80+. I already have a spare tire.

Just thought that there was a chance I would get lucky and find someone who has a mount they don't use, sold the trailer, etc....

$80 is about what I would guess. I didn't have my two as a line item on the invoice. It is nicely constructed and coated complete with u-bolts and lugs for the wheel.

When I ordered my trailer, the used boat price included the base trailer and I was able to add a few trailer features which included one mounted spare and one loose spare w/mount. I WANTED TWO SPARES FOR THE 1050 MILE SATURDAY/SUNDAY DRIVE. Trailer tires are not easy to find during regular hours.

I also went ahead and got the second mount because I wanted to be able to mount two spares for long trips...but the way the jack is put on behind the swing tongue...not possible. Next trailer I might consider a fixed tongue with the jack up front and two spares. Or one spare flat under the trailer like a tractor trailer or Dorsey (IIRC).

        Nothing's perfect.

Let me thing about it. I'll admit it is in my way at the boat barn.

Have you thought about getting a local welding shop to build you one?....freight from me or Ramlin won't be cheap.

I got a generic one from northern and redrilled the holes to mount up a 6 lug wheel. I think it cost me $20. It was really easy and cheap.
