1997 Ski Nautique Masters Limited Edition

I am listing this boat for a friend who has very limited internet access.

    1997 Ski Nautique
    Masters Limited Edition
    310 HP PCM/Ford GT40
    1000 hrs.
    Perfect Pass Pro
    Bimmini top
    Heater
    Alpine stereo and amplifier
    ACME prop
    Dripless shaft seal
    Excellent carpet
    Excellent upholstery
    Garage-stored
    No salt water
No hull or rigging damage, ever.
Fitted cover, never used, garage stored
    Tandem axle trailer

I have personally driven and skiied behind this boat and can say with confidence that you will not be disappointed.

The owner is a machinist by trade and has meticulously improved nearly every mechanical system. This boat drives and steers better now than it did when new from the factory. The prop shaft was good to begin with but not good enough, it has been straightened to within .0005" across it's full length. That's half a thousandth. Newer Nautiques have an adjustable wedge on the rudder to compensate for torque steer. This boat has the same thing although machined and installed by the owner. I can drive this boat through the course with one finger on the wheel. No joke. There is additional sound-absorbing foam added to the gunnels, bow and stern. There is no vibration in this boat, it's tight as a drum and dead silent except for the exhaust note.

      Ed is asking $16000

Worth every penny IMHO. He has recently suffered a back injury and will no longer be skiing slalom. Sad. This is/was his dream boat.

I am going to kick myself for asking, but is this boat still for sale? It looks to be in amazing shape, the only concern is the high amount of hours on the original engine.

I wouldn't worry about the hours Mattie. A well maintained GT40 will do 1,000 hours without even breathing heavy. You'd be looking at 2,500-3,000 hours before a re-build. I'm amazed this boat is still on the market, to be honest.

Good to know. My background is mostly stern drives, so 1000 hours is a bit of a factor in those setups, even if the drive itself has been replaced.

I am amazed too, it might not be for long if I can get in touch with the original poster.

Oh definitely in a stern drive. Anything over 800 hours in an I/O and I'd be preparing for a lower unit rebuild, at very least. Good luck with the purchase! Let us know how it goes...
