1999 CC Super Air Nautique $19k, Ft Walton Beach, FL

We're only selling because my co-owner moved out of the area and now I can't afford to keep the boat. :-( We have had so much fun with this boat, but unfortunately it has to go. Yes, the boat was used in brackish water but we NEVER left the boat in the water overnight and ALWAYS washed the boat immediately after pulling it. Every time we pulled it we washed it with soap and water immediately, ran the engine for 5-10 minutes with fresh water then ran Salt-Away through the engine. Interior was thoroughly wiped down with soapy rag then immediately dried with towel. Boat was kept covered and under my carport. Regular maintenance (oil/transmission fluid changes) was done by myself at the recommneded intervals. Exhaust manifolds and risers were recently replaced by an experienced correct craft mechanic so they should be good for another 5+ years. Maintenance log was kept. Tandem galvanized trailer was thoroughly washed at the end of the day and was even rinsed with fresh water within minutes after putting the boat in at the beginning of the day. Bearings, coupler, brake lines and fluid replaced this summer, brakes replaced this past spring. Boat has 1200 hours, depth finder, Perfect Pass (cruise control), 1400lbs built-in ballast system, tower with 4 Polk speakers, permanent racks for 4 boards + removable racks for 4 more boards, mp3 player hookup, hot and cold water shower, and heater under dash (to blow hot air on cold days). I will include a Hyperlite wakesurf board, wakesurf rope and handle, wakeboard rope and handle. Picture is from last year when boat was on a different trailer. New pictures to come soon. UPDATE: I just heard from the CC mechanic and he says the engine is "done." We have recently wakeboarded behind it and the boat still runs and pulls. There is the occasional surge, which you can feel, but doesn't affect the ride. The surging started maybe 100-200 hours ago last year and it has slowly gotten worse. Personally, I think it will still run and pull for at LEAST 100, maybe 200 or more hours before it gets bad enough you can't drive or ride behind it. I'll entertain offers for the boat as is...at this point I would definitely let it go for $16k.

Well I guess in the spirit of full disclosure, he is saying the engine is completely shot or at least has 100-200 hours before needing replaced.

I guess without seeing some interior shots, if you picked this boat up right you could put a new motor and have a really nice ride.

I really dislike it when a for sale thread gets picked apart. However, I think this one begs some questions.

What is a new motor going to cost? $6000? Rebuild is a decent amount of dough, too. And what else needs to be replaced? MPI system, alt, starter, trans, ECM, disty, electrical? Anything else? I am not sure this is that cheap.
Well cared for, that engine should not be giving up the ghost at 1200 hours. Though, by description it has been well cared for. Couple other things, was this originally a SSN, and had the tower and graphics added? Or was that all replaced? A real PP is another expense. i think this boat will cost $21-23k in the end which is right in line with most for sale. Not saying it is a bad deal, but I don't think it is a steal. The right guy who is willing to do some work will end up with a great boat at a good fair price.

The reason I said that about getting there is I am on crutches right now and have been for three weeks. I fractured three metatarsals in my foot doing a tantrum. I am out 5 more weeks on crutches and a cast. I need a willing traveler to help the crip!!!

This would not be a replacement for mine. Just a way to hook someone up with a nice boat with new motor.

                    Boat is sold.

FYI, this is a real Super Air Nautique. I was super anal and spent a ton of time cleaning, spraying WD-40 (and other rust preventatives), and doing whatever I could to prevent rust. I too was surprised the engine went at 1200 hours from all I've read on these forums. I had specific CC mechanic with 20+ years experience (and he says he helped design this boat!) who I took it to a few times per year. He just said wakeboarding and wakesurfing are really hard on these engines and he didn't seem surprised the engine died. He is a slalom skier so he has the luxury of not needing/wanting weight in his boat.
