Motor - PCM 330EX long block complete

Good running PleasureCraft Marine GM based 330 Excalibur. Motor will come complete with oil pan and heads but no front accessories, no manifolds, no trans. Motor has 450 hours, available for run test before I pull it. I will also do a compression test on the motor before it's pulled.

This would be a great option for somebody with a freeze damaged motor or an inexpensive refresher for a high hour motor.

Price is negotiable, but I am thinking $1500 would be fair. Located in San Francisco East Bay, truck shipping is available.

Are you putting a newer engine in a boat to have zero off?

After having direct drives for 30 years, I need something more in the v-drive to keep me satisfied. While the 330 is plenty for a direct drive, in my opinion it just does not have enough power to pull that lead sled V-drive into satisfactory performance when you wakeboard, slalom, and barefoot behind the same boat. I also want to be able to turn a bigger prop so I am not buzzing around the lake at 4k rpms all the time.

Mike you must have read my thoughts. I very stupidly froze my engine this october in snap freeze and now am shopping for a new block. aaaaaargh. Anyways I have a 78 nautique that has a 351 ford commander in it. Will your engine be a good fit I've never swapped an engine before and wasn't hoping to do it any time soon but the time has come. Any info would be awesome and now is the time to be doing this stuff not May when all the buddies are at the lake on someone elses boat.

                Scooter,
Just my opinion, but I would keep the Ford RH 351 in that boat. You don't really want a LH in that boat. Go to CCFan and post a want ad.

Or go here. 351W long block, $1295, plus $150 for the RR. http://www.chicagoengines.com/marine/engines/index.htm

This will be an easy easy replacement. You can swap everything you have over to the 351 reman. Exhaust (if not cracked) starter, alt, intake, carb, everything.

Putting the other motor in will have some challenges. Trans, mounts, exhaust, intake, fuel delivery,

                Where are you located?

                  Scooter,

I did see your post, and would have send you a PM if I thought this would be a fit for you. If I were in your shoes I would just get a fresh 351 Ford long block built to factory specs, maybe upgrade to GT40 heads if you want more power. Changing your manifolds and accessories over to the Chevy is likely to be too costly.

                  Mike
