    2002 SANTE - GT-40 needs engine rebuild

I bought the boat several months ago, interior in very good shape, ran great. I started having some engine problems with the GT-40 shortly after replacing the manifolds and risers. Unfortunately the dealer tells me I am in need of an engine rebuild. I figure that someone out there that has the expertise and desire to do the work can get a nice boat for much cheaper than I can do it for.

I know what it feels like to be ripped off and don't wish that on anyone. I have bought and sold many vehicles over the years, and have always made sure that I represent the condition of the item as honestly as possible. This sale will be no different. I will add more pics when I get the boat back from the dealer

    Some specifics:

2002 Super Air Team Edition with GT-40. Blue/Red. Hull in very good condition. Some decal tears. Recently replaced the manifolds and risers, new 4 blade prop, added closed cooling system. I probably have only 15 hours on these parts.

Interior is in good condition. All the vinyl is soft with no cracking. There is one small (2 inch long) tear along the seam in the port side sun pad. Also, a 1/2 inch cut on the top of the drivers seat. Looks like it may have been from a wakeboard fin. Some discoloration on the sunpad.

Flight control tower with flight clips. One is slightly bent and looks like the PO may have bent it to fit a wakesurf in.

Factory clarion w/ 6 speakers, no tower speaker, amps, or sub. Bow pantyhose grill cloths are torn

Faria depth gauge I got installed right after I bought it. In-hull transducer.

Added second battery and perko switch.

Added two brand new 750lb fat sacs. Plumbed with fatsac fittings and stock aerator pumps. Stock center ballast fills and drains properly.

Galvanized Eagle trailer, single axle, no problems with trailer at all. Has drum brakes but they arent connected.

    Full cover and bow cover.

I'm sure many of you have read my recent forum posts on this boat. If not, search for my posts by username.

    Asking $17,000

Motor ran great for the few times we had it out, then one day we dropped it in and it started to misfire. After not being able to diagnose the problem myself, I brought it to the nautique dealer. One of the cylinders had no compression, the dealer said the piston was damaged. He said the heads were rusted and not in good shape, but that they looked repairable. No signs of a cracked block. I will be able to post pictures of the motor components when I get it back later this week.

Im pretty excited about it. Got a new perfect pass installed, and just took delivery of some alpine amps and bulletpoint HLCDs.
