    What's it worth?

Hello all! I'm new here, and we're actually in the process of trying to sell our Nautique! It's a great boat and we love it, but it just don't suit our needs anymore.

    What we have is a 2001 Sport Natique with a 502 V8.
It has: an Extended Pylon, Heater, Clarion Upgraded Sount System, Perfect Pass, and under 100 hours.

The hard part is putting a value on it. We had originally thought 20k, but looking at NADA and other boats for sale on here it seems light. We were offered 16k for it, and that seems really low. Any ideas? Little help? Anything??

    Thanks in advance!!

$20k or so sounds reasonable to me. Low hours and great options, especially that python motor. You don't see many of those around, especially in Sports.

      That's what I thought.

As for not seeing many with the 502, according to the dealer we purchased it from (it's a One Owner Order Out) they only made 13 with the 502 in 2001, and this boat was #13, plus was the only one in 01 with the Blue/Black combo. Please if this is incorrect let me know, I'm just going off what we were told!

The python will command a premium. The single axle trailer will take a hit. The hours will command a premium. The digital gauges may take a hit, although I see you have perfect pass, which can be used in lieu of those stupid digital gauges. The great condition will command a premium. The lack of a flight control tower will take a hit. There are still people who prefer no towers, but they typically want a 196 not a sport.

                Sweet boat.

You should be able to sell that boat quickly and for a good price. Nice low hours. I am not sure not having a tower will make much difference.

I'm trying to put a number on it. Is 20k too low, or about right?

Reasoning behind the options - single axle trailer -- it wasn't trailered more than 100 miles in it's whole life, it lives on a lake currently. No flight control tower because it wouldn't of fit on the lift, plus it's a sport nautique, not an air nautique so I don't think that they were available with the flight control tower. And we weren't offered an option without digital gauges.

My opinion is that your price of $20k is dead on.

My opinion is that is a sell immediately price. I think it is worth more, but I am slightly biased.

I agree with Slayer. That is a sell immediately price. I looked all over for a Sport last year with that hull. They seemed to average in the $24,000 range. I would have jumped on your boat fast. The 502 really turns me on, and if you get someone that knows what they are looking at they will know you have a rare combination of that hull and motor. If you don't need to sell fast I would go more than $20,000. Problem is, everyone on here knows you are already ok with that price.

Well, here's the issue. We've had the boat listed, and sold numerous different times in the past 3-4 years, but no one has come through. I'm actually marketing it for my dad and he was at 21,500. I changed the price to 20k to get it sold for him. Originally (4 years ago) he had it at 32,500. I'm just trying to be reasonable with it. We want it gone, this spring. But now after talking with all of you I'm going to hold more firm on my 20k figure.

If anyone is intersted just let me know. I'm going to be taking more pictures, and shipping is available for this boat!

The good news is that you are in a market not flooded with nautiques for sale and you live in lake country where people have money (I grew up in nearby Nashotah and then Hartland). The bad news is NADA and all the firesales on the coasts. I think 20k is a reasonable price (not a quick sale price) for your market, but you will need a buyer who understands what you have. If you were on one of the coasts, I would say you would probably need to drop about $2k. Your selling points are the python motor, the low hours, and the condition of the boat. None of those can be added like a tower, dual axle trailer, auto ballast, etc. can be. The rarity of the hull color adds no value except to a collector, which are few and far between.

Call NADA and ask them how many Sports with the Python THEY sold last year!

My point is, They aren't a dealer/enthusiast/expert on anything other than averaging old data and plugging it into cheesy formula's to spit out some generic numbers. This might work for Honda civics and such, but the rarity of your combo is much tougher to put a number on for them due to a lack of data....the number they spit out might have been from when one of the other 12, 502/sports sold a year ago, and who knows how many hours/condition that boat was in.

Don't just go with the NADA numbers, list the boat alot of places and see what the response is, the guy interested in this combo will know how much he's willing to pay!

list at correctcraftfan.com as well, lost of enthusiasts over there.
