Ask for close up pics of everything if you plan to buy this boat without looking in person. The yellow gelcoat at the bottom rear is faded. You can see it in the first two pics if you look close.

If that boat is in as good as condition as it looks (the yellow can be buffed out usually, and it's not uncommon to see some gel coats needing some mild attention. Seeing that the asking price is 32k, I would guess this boat might sell fairly quickly. IMO

Is that the stock color of the tower or did you have it powder coated?

I looked at this boat last year. Looked good in the pics. Same ones actually. I inquired about it and was told it was in good shape. He said nothing about the sun damage so I assume he will not tell you either. Drove an hour with every intention to buy and after seeing it did not even make an offer. I'm no expert, just telling you to do your homework if your buying sight unseen. Shag, you can make anything look good by taking pics of the good or taking pics far enough away that they look good.

That boat is fairly easily restorable to like new gel coat. It doesn't look bad in the pics. Even if it looks worse in person it's über doable.

I'm not saying its a good or bad deal. My point is that a 200 hour 2005 boat should not need restoration if it was stored properly and maintained, waxed etc. I'm not here to argue about it. Buy the boat and fix it if you want. Just giving my observation from seeing the boat in person and talking with the owner. It needs some work that is more than "spring cleaning".

                    to flying90...
Anybody over 16 years old knows to look at things and check them out before buying. Did you in any way think that I was trying to make you buy something you didn't want? This is a used boat... it is not a showroom off the dealer lot boat and priced that way... all things are up for negotiation (As stated in my original for sale offer). I will stand behind this boat and any statement that I make about it. I did NOT try to deceive you in any way and I will not to anybody else. The most relavant comment you made when you came to look at this boat was that your wife didn't like yellow. The other significant comment you made was that you thought you could pick one up this winter in the twenties and that you sold one a couple of years ago way too cheap.
You gave good advice for everyone to check it out before buying but after that and since you're not an expert in gel coat finishes keep your opinions to yourself. If you want to have a gel coat finish thread then start it on your own don't hi-jack this thread.

                    Shag. Thank you.

                    Gride. Thank you.

Yes the tower is the stock color.

I was being nice when I came to look. You made it sound like it was in good shape. It was not up to the standard i was looking for so I passed. Of everyone posting in this thread, me and you are the only two that have seen the boat so i'm not sure why two guys that have never seen it have posted that it is easily fixed or why they even commented. Are they experts by looking at pics?

I only commented on here so that people would get the whole story before dropping $32k.

Your comment about anyone over 16 getting the boat checked out before they buy it is funny since I think you said you bought it out of state (florida I think, correct me if this is not right) without seeing it in person. Correct?

I was not hijacking your thread. My original post just stated the truth about your boat. What about my post is a lie? I would be hijacking if I said that I had a boat for sale that was better than yours which I did not.

I hope you sell your boat and get everything you can for it. I also hope that when you find a buyer, they go in to the deal knowing what they are buying. That was my only intention.

Not being hateful here guys. Thanks.

I am in the market...And I heard a picture is worth a 1,000 words. How about more pics of both inside and outside?

I bought an Orange 04 SANTE with very similar fading. I'll go so far as to say the fading was much worse. It buffed out like new without a problem. Merely some light compound, cleaner wax and a seal. Looks brand new. With consistent proper maintenance and waxing. I would not hesitate because of the fading.

Buyers are picky, which is why they are buyers and not owners. If somebody got into this boat for under $30k and in needed a new motor they would still be doing ok! This boat would not last a week in the northwest at this price, and if shipping wasnt $1.35 a mile right now I would deliver it straight to fusion graphix for a sic wrap. If you want a deal, you gotta be willing to take a risk...
