I'd love to see a pic of boards in them and how they flow with the tower....especially interested in a board in the top position of the rack....never seen racks built to "flow" like these other than the few I bent by hitting the poles on a dock when I forgot I had boards in the racks....
If you don't think you can learn something from "people like" Quinner, you may be stoked to find better feedback on Wakeworld......
I assure you I haven't bent these by hitting a dock or anything for that matter. All 4 clips are identical short of being for their appropriate side.i looked everywhere for info on them with no success. I called nautique and sent them pics to find out they were put out at very limited quantities. They were actually made to contour with the tower. Since posting this I've actually run into another set on a local boat here. Just weird to me people with so much nautique knowledge would post that they're bent from some accident, when with my short little research, I've figure it out.i really love my boat and I enjoy reading about all of yours. But getting treated like I'm not cool enough to play on the playground, is ridiculous. So, with a grain of salt, ill continue to read. And apparently, I need to post with caution.
LOL. Read my post, I'm asking a question and at no point did I say "you" hit something.
Now that you have called me out however I have looked at those pics again and as Kell mentioned, can't see the boards fitting properly, the rubber padding no longer would be parallel to the board face, board edge would be on aluminum edge without rubber padding, boards would probably get beat up in them, the way they are bent would not change the angle of the board position or follow the "contour" of the tower, they are bent towards the tower not with it. If I was betting, my money would be on "Bent, and not at the factory", All In.
Unless you are the original owner could it be possible the PO "hit something"?? Finding it hard to believe this was a factory design, so please, enlighten us.

Just said I have never seen them and would be interested to see how the boards fit in there since they look like they would really catch the wind and not be secure in the upper position. Doesnt seem to be the best design. Very limited quantities - enough said. You looked everywhere and coudnt find anything on them till you called Nautique. Why would anyone else have a different outsome from their research, short of calling Nautique.
I have bent/snapped off a few myself on at least one of my 4, soon to be 5 Nautiques and over my 20+ years of boating experience. Yes I have bent/broke them and admit it, nothing wrong with that, forgot they were out. Happens. Not sure why you have hurt feelings and will take things with "a grain of salt"....
Quinner has been around Nautiques a long time, I can bet he has forgotten more than most of us will ever know about them, so saying "people like you" is a bit insulting..
Never said it was a great design. As a matter of fact I think it's a poor design. That's why they are getting replaced.
As far as being insulting... I apologize. I get on this forum to learn and be a proud nautique owner. Not to argue. So to both of you, sorry for the tude.
As far as the racks go... I don't like my bent ones or the straight ones. But, to each their own. I figure there's someone out there who does. So if you are one of them... I have a set of pretty unique ones on eBay, have a look.
I'm trying to follow this post... I have a couple on my SV that are bent and a couple that are straight... I was assuming that the PO just bent them on something... but are there some that are "designed" bent? Not meaning to throw salt into the wound or anything... but what is the deal?
I tried to bend them back, but WOW they are tough, so I couldn't imagine them being bent without really having 2 tons of boat pushing on them.
I also have the black pad worn out on some of the edges and that scratched the edges of my boards... anybody replace them? Just used foam pad from HD, or is there some way to just replace the rubber bits? Or even the bungees? I can't afford putting in new swivel racks.
Highly doubt the factory ever manufactured a modified or "bent" version of flight clips as the OP described, ICBW however the OP never really elaborated on the source of his info stating otherwise. I looked through all the 04'-05' 226's in the CCFan diaries and none appear to have the "custom contoured" clips he described.
Looks like he sold them on ebay for $300, if in fact they are damaged goods and his description is inaccurate, as I believe it is, that is brutal.
Scott, you called me out, now I am calling you out, Prove It!!
Call it what you will... Crickets... So be it. Most of all just no desire to argue over your superior knowledge of this brand and what they do without your approval. The flight clips I sold on eBay are absolutely positively "bent" by the manufacturer. I hate that I didn't take pictures of the other ones I saw the other day. And I really wish I would have gotten a pay stub of the guy I spoke with at nautique. I didn't realize there would be a test. Bottom line, I'm here to learn and be a proud nautique owner. I'm not trying to be "brutal" to anyone. So if I'm in the wrong place, I'm sorry for sharing any of this. I shared here to be helped and educated, not accused. But hey, at least you two have some newbie to make fun of and "call out". glad I could be here for you. Thanks for the attention. I hope your boats run better and you have more fun behind them knowing there is a dip **** like me out there.
