    RE: 1998 Air Nautique

I'm looking at a similar boat (same year & model) that is closer to my home, with the older boxy looking tower. I see that you have the newer style in an '04 model. Did you upgrade this and was the old one on previously? I'm curious if I can upgrade the tower and have the mounting location line up exactly with the older tower. How much did you pay for the tower if you don't mind me asking? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, the boat had the older style tower initially. However, it cracked and needed to be replaced. The local Natique dealer performed tower removal, fiberglass/gelcoat work, and installation. You cannot tell where the older tower was mounted unless you look at a wierd angle. The new tower mounts did not line up to the '98 so new holes w/support needed to be drilled. As a result, the new tower is much more stable and does not flex like the older one did. The total price after all the work was about $5.5k. This included a new mooring cover, new wake racks, and a new bimini. The older accessories did not adapt tp the new tower. Hope this helps.
