12" Subwoofer in Custom Ported Enclosure for Legacy SAN/SS

I had this enclosure made for my 1999 SAN and hoped that it would work in my new boat, but no luck. It was designed to fit under the helm with the kick panel removed. The subwoofer faces the bow with the port facing the side wall. It has a weatherpack connector and was professionally sprayed with bedliner.

I originally had a Wetsounds XS12 subwoofer in the enclosure but the cone separated from the chassis and I had to return it. But at the time, I needed a new subwoofer quickly (it was the day before a planned trip to the lake) so I put a brand new Memphis Marine 15-MXA12D4 12" subwoofer in it as a stop gap until I could exchange the XS12. In all honestly, to my amateur ear, the Memphis sounded as good (or better) as the XS12 (my stereo guy said that it had something to do with dual coil, ohms, better efficiency, and other things I don't understand).

I sold the boat before I replaced the XS12 and Wetsounds was good enough to give me credit towards other purchases so I am selling this. The subwoofer was used for two days on the lake. The enclosure was in the boat for about a month before I pulled it and it has been in my garage since. Asking $300 obo. Buyer pays actual shipping.

Can you post up exact measurements?

Any idea what freq it was tuned to?

When I had the box made, I gave the guy the my XS12 subwoofer and the spec sheet from Wetsounds and asked him to build the box per spec in a shape that would fit under the helm of the boat. I don't know about frequency.

Outside dimensions are 23" (wide) x 17.5" (tall) x 9" (depth at top) and 11" (depth at bottom). I put two strips of .5" HDPE on th bottom to keep it up off the ground that make it 18" tall. But those can be removed if needed. So the front is flat and the back is angled.

Where did you mount your PME and Bilge swtich after you installed this? I assume although a different dash than my 00 Pro Air your PME and Bilge switch was located in the kick panel like mine. I'm interested if shipping isn't killer.

The kick panel in my 99' did not have anything mounted to it, so PME and bilge were not issues.

I forgot that some of the newer legacy SAN/SS boats have stuff mounted in their kick panels. For this enclosure to work, that stuff would likely have to be relocated.

Yea I wondered since the dash was different and yours was chevy powered I believe. I might still be interested I just need to see if I have enough to wire to move the PME. (I've seen it done before I just need to do some research).

Loved your 99, have you posted pics of the 12' yet?
