2002 SANTE w/ 425 hp 8.1L Python Engine
-Asking Price: $25,000
-Boat is located in East Central Mississippi
-Single axle Ramlin trailer included w/ two spare tires
-Boat has at least 440 hrs; see below for details.
As you will notice in the pictures, the boat has not been thoroughly cleaned recently as we are still using it. While we do wipe it down after each use, and store it in a totally enclosed shop, we don't usually detail it fully till time for winter storage; usually October sometime. So, I apologize for not presenting it at its optimal level of cleanliness. I have tons of pictures of the boat totalling a file size of +4 MB. Therefore I am only going to post a few here. If you want to see the full album, email me and I will send you a copy: andrew.m.howard@gmail.com
Aside from the pictures, I did want to mention a few things about the boat as I think you will find the information handy:
-My wife and I purchased this boat in 2012 from a guy in Madison, MS. From what I remember, he purchased it from the original owner somewhere in North Carolina. Therefore, if my recollection of those conversations is correct, I am the 3rd owner. We owned a 1991 Nautique Excel prior to this, and really appreciate the Nautique product.
-You will see in the pictures that the hours on the perfect pass display do not match the hours on the speedometer. Let me explain this. As you may be aware, a very common issue with this vintage super air (2000-2002) is failure of the OEM teleflex tachometer and speedometer. They were very problematic, and eventually teleflex ceased manufacturing them. Therefore, many owners converted to Faria speedo and tach. The previous owner made this conversion; I have a receipt from the previous owner that documents this work. Replacing the speedometer in effect gives you a brand new hour meter that reads 0.0 hrs. This is why the speedometer reads 119hrs and perfect pass reads 440hrs. Perfect pass is a standard feature on this model, and this gauge looks to be original to the boat. Therefore, I think it reflects the true hours on the boat, but I have no way of officially proving this. Long story short, the boat/engine should have at least 440 hrs on it; this usage seems typical of similar boats of this age. As a second check, the engine ECU could be read with a diacom scanner to obtain the hours stored on the ECM. However, I live 1.5 hrs from the nearest inboard dealer, so we have never pursued having this done. If you are interested in the boat and our discussion moves to a serious point, I would be willing to have this service performed if it provides you solace as to the hours on the boat.
-As mentioned in the prior paragraph, I live 1.5 hrs from the nearest inboard boat dealer, and they are not a Nautique dealer. Therefore, I have maintained this boat myself purchasing parts from http://www.nautiqueparts.com/ as needed. Therefore, there really are no service records stemming from my time of ownership except a few email receipts for the purchase of parts. I do have maintenance records from the prior owner if you are interested in seeing those.
If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to email me. It is hard for me to talk by phone during the day as I work in a steel mill that is very noisy, and cell reception inside the building is unreliable. However, if you would like to speak by phone let me know and we can work out a time.
Thanks,
Andrew
