1989 Sport Nautique
20 ft
Direct Drive
OPEN BOW
351 motor, runs strong
In solid shape, could use a little TLC, but very good for the year
751 hours
Trailer is solid, needs new wood and carpet, but mechanically solid
ONE owner boat, bought brand new, time to let her go
*ISSUES* -- I want to be clear on this issue, the boat is being sold as is.
1. The boat has trouble finding neutral, and getting into reverse. I believe it is a linkage or sensor issue of some kind, because I can get it into reverse and it runs. Therefore, I don't believe it is the transmission, but I have not had a mechanic look at it. It makes starting it touchy because finding neutral is tough. I had been starting it in drive/idle, and it worked fine that way. Once running, finding neutral was doable.
2. The boat could use a wax, maybe decals, it was always stored in a covered boat lift, but it has taken a toll on the exterior coloring, and it is faded.
3. The trailer needs new wood and carpet
Comparable boats seem to go in the 10k range. I am asking $5000 knowing it needs some fixes, and thinking that $1500-2500 is more than enough to have everything how you want it. I am open to reasonable offers though. It is currently being stored in a climate controlled warehouse, not winterized, and can be driven as needed.
