I come across these vacuum pumps from time to time. I have this one which I previously used to extract my boat's transmission fluid.
It doesn't look like much, but it pulls a great vacuum, has a built in collection container and runs off of 12 Volts DC. It has about a foot of wire coming out of the motor so you can hook up your own cables to your boat battery.
