1999 Sport Nautique upgraded to Air Nautique with 2nd Gen Tower

    SOLD 2/16/2019!
We're upgrading to a 230 and will have to part ways with our Sport.

Purchased a 1999 Sport Nautique 3 seasons ago at 319 hours and have put on about 100 hours since. A brand new Steering cable makes things drive like new. The typical engine items are brand new: plugs, wires, dist cap/rotor, EFI relays, lanyard switch, Oil pressure switch, Water temp switch, and passed a compression test with flying colors. The boat runs great and accelerates like a champ!
New batteries, custom cover and trailer wheels purchased in 2017.
Trailer rolling parts including surge brakes were overhauled in 2016.

    asking $16,500

Yes, the boat is still available. The trailer carpet steps have been replaced. The boat has been winterized (impeller, oil change, trans fluid change, fcc filter change, belts changed, marine antifreeze, and double dose of stabil on a full tank and the batteries are on the maintenance chargers). The rear hatch cover came in and will be installed at some point before next season. All in all ready for the next owner to enjoy.

Just out of curiosity how did you like the boat for wakeboarding? Ever put any ballast in it? If so how much difference was it?

                  Hello jsmith
I've got the exact same boat.
2 - 400 pound sacks in trunk 1 - 400 sack in the ski locker. Wakeboarding it does well for the people that I ride with.
Definitely nothing to brag about. I ride a Skyski and Barefoot so works very well for me.

Bushski, thanks for the response it’s good to hear. I just ordered some ballast for my 99 Sport i did some wakeboarding last season and it did good but I’m hoping the ballast makes the wake a little bigger to hold me off from buying a newer air Nautique for atleast another year!

I've had mine since new Great Boat
I definitely would love to get into a 2009 or newer 210. Buying river front property has put a hold on this!

JSmith, Circa 2005 I rode on a lot of these boats with people that could throw impressive tricks behind them... I usually ride with a 700lbs fat sack behind the engine and the factory rear ballast. I have the 300lb ski locker bag that I'll use when the spotter is light. This boat fits the sport category really well... It'll do everything, slalom, wakeboard, and tubing well. It'll also surf people less than 180lbs with the ballast moved to the surf side and a wake shaper on the other side. The surf pocket is narrow, right behind the center of the platform and doesn't have enough push for more than ~180lbs.

It throws a really rampy wake for every setup I've tried... I'm ~6'5" and well over 220lbs and ride at 22mph to get the wake to be solid.but, for tubing and skiing the acceleration is amazing so it's great for an all around family boat.

Other information that was in the Craigslist add that is waiting until the Spring:
The boat has the gt-40 with 419hours on it.
Everything mechanically is up to date and working great.
Winterization for us is: oil change(40w zr1), trans fluid change, fcc filter change, impeller change, belts change, a double dose of stabil in the tank and 2 gallons of marine/rv antifreeze through like the manual suggests then put the batteries on the float chargers.

Prop is is the original and is flawless. The air Nautique upgrade package come with 2- 220lb hard ballast tanks hidden under there rear storage. There is an inlet and outlet pump that both work... The factory manual says to fill them driving >18mph or so and they take 10 minutes or so. They provide a very well tailored wake even though it's hardly any weight by today's standards. The boats 310hp doesn't blink at the extra weight and that's less than the factory rated 1200lbs since we typically ride with 3 people.

I slalom ski also so being able to drop all the weight makes the boat absolutely rip to plane... It's amazing and so fast that I have to ask my drivers to be careful b/c the boat will do 0-30 in literally 3-4 seconds and blast up to 40 if they aren't paying diligent attention. The boat holds speed fantastically and can be set to single mph precision (does not have perfect pass).

For the trailer the two original tires as spares and the bearings and brakes are in good shape. Also included is a spare high-pressure fuel pump that goes in the fcc (fuel control cell)... The one in there has always been a touch rusty but holds fuel pressure spot on.

No heater option or airdam on this particular one.

all the gauges work great as this is one of the last years with the robust teleflex gauges.
