2002 Ski Nautique 196 with GT40 (PCM 5.8 HO 310hp multi-port EFI) motor and Eagle single axle trailer
664.2 hours on original RPM gauge (Please see picture. The RPM and speedometer in this year boat are notorious for fading out.)
About 6 hours on the new RPM gauge
Speedometer replaced at the same time (uses GPS)
We do not turn the boat off between passes to save hours. Therefore, about half the hours are at out-of-gear idle.
Upgrade
Perfect Pass Stargazer with Z-box
Features
TSC2 hull
Keyless ignition
Clarion AM/FM CD marine stereo
Heater / defroster
Tunable rudder and 4 blade prop
Matching blue cover
Extra rear-view mirror
Condition
Hull – very good. (Never damaged, no gel coat cracks or spider-webbing.) A new red rub rail insert is included if you want to change the look.
Interior – very good. (No rips or seem splits in the vinyl. The rear seat has always been stored.)
Motor – runs great. Oil changed annually because we rarely ran more than 50 hours in a season. Never overheated. Almost all the hours are 34 mph or less skiing in the course.
Trailer – OK. Brakes and lights work. Most parts have been replace at one time or another. (Boat bunks, bow bunks, rear lights, wench strap, and stand-on boards on either side of fenders.) Tires are new around 2010. (The tires are the same size but not the same make.) There is some surface rust on tongue and bottom of fenders. I have a new tongue jack and spare tire mount that I’ll include.
Maintenance and Replace
About 75 hours ago – impeller, transmission fluid, fuel filter, plugs, cap, rotor.
Both fuel pumps have been replaced.
The heater core is new and ready to go, but is being bypassed as we never need heat.
Battery is newer and still under warranty.
All the gas strut supports have been replaced. (Glove box, observer seat, rear storage.)
History
Promo the first year, one owner since.
Always on private lake. (Except that one summer on a public lake.) Never salt water.
Stored covered on trailer or on a boat lift. Never left in the water. Always floated on trailer and boat lift. (That is, the boat is never driven on where the bunk carpet would scratch the hull.)
Stored in climate controlled garage in winter. Boat and trailer always on jack stands to take weight off the tires.
