Not mine anymore, but I just came across the 2013 PlanetNautique G23 listed for sale in Minnesota. That was a GREAT boat -- Loaded with XS-550.

I remember picking out the colors on that boat. He must have really not used it! It had about 100 hours on it when I sold it to him in 2014. And I can tell you that this boat was VERY well taken care of. Jeff had it first, then me, and then this guy, and he was super-anal about his stuff! Whoever gets this will get a good one

I tried to go buy this boat the other weekend. Since I couldn't drive it since it was winter and he lives in North Dakota, I asked for an inspection which was fine through our conversations. He seemed a little irritated that I wanted an inspection but it was ok. I got there, the boat was filthy and he refused to let me get it inspected after driving 15 hours to get there. He said "if I don't have a check in my hand in 30 minutes, I'm leaving". Pretty disappointed in the entire situation and how everything was handled. An inspection on a boat you cannot drive is more than reasonable in my opinion.

wow, what an a$$. an inspection is an absolute must on something you can't water test yourself, especially when dropping this much money on it. sorry that happened.

I agree definitely reasonable to have an inspection done, and to drive all that way and then refuse to let you have it inspected is definitely not a good move on his part. It's a nice boat but no way I'd hand over a check to a guy like that.

That sounds really silly...but there's also no way I would drive 15 hours without an inspection already completed by a reputable Nautique dealer?

Yeah, hindsight I probably trusted him too much. He told me how well he takes care of everything up to the point of waxing his lawn mower and then the comments here in this post about how Anal they thought he was on taking care of his stuff. I had an appt that morning for the inspection and based on what I heard and he told me, I thought there wouldn't be any issues. I figured I would get the inspection, everything would check out and he would have his check/me the boat and id be on my merry way. Service reports showed that last year the boat kept overheating because it didn't have enough coolant and he had 2 fouled spark plugs from the dealer which isnt common either.

Wow, sorry to hear that! That does not sound like a fun situation. I've bought enough boats now, that I would want an inspection too. Minor issues on these boats can still mean $$$$$

Phew! I reached out to this guy as he mentioned he would consider a 230 in trade. Long story short, he wanted a ridiculous amount of cash on top of my boat! Glad I didn't pursue this!!

Is his price good/fair? The guy may not be great to deal with, but maybe it's still a good deal for someone? By filthy, is it beat on or just needs a good washing? Jeff and seachicken took good care of it, so it would seem on surface this guy maybe didn't use it enough to beat it up?

I think it is a fair price. Upon inspection we were going to go to my bank and get a cashier check. Seems fishy to me that an inspection isnt ok after being agreed upon before I drove 15 hours each way. If someone can water test it, then I think its probably fine. I just wasnt ready to gamble 90k on it to find out given my dealings with him this far. I dont buy cars without driving them, houses without inspecting them (unless I'm going to scrape the home), etc. It was tucked tightly in a barn but it didn't look to have damage.
