This is probably the least-expensive bubble-back Ski Nautique available today. $5,900 and you can take it home!
Is it a project? YES!!
Does it run? YES!!
Can it be used right now? YES!! (if you don't mind the interior)
What does it need?
The two main things it needs are a new interior and some gelcoat repair, mainly to the driver's side.
The boat sat tied to a pier for a long time before I got it, and it did some decent damage to the driver's side gelcoat. There are several gouges that are down to the fiberglass, and many other surface scratches. See pictures below.
The passenger side and the transom will come back nicely with just a sand and buff, but the driver's side will need more extensive repair to make it perfect.
My gelcoat repair person here at Lake Norman quoted me $1,900 for a complete respray of the hull. I don't think that's too bad.
The interior needs total replacement. The structural pieces are totally fine, but the vinyl and the foam are bad. The floor is solid, and the carpet is actually pretty decent.
The engine is the standard 5.8L 351W carbureted version rated at 260 HP. It starts very nicely, and has a new distributor, wires, coil, and a rebuilt carburetor. Oil pressure is good, and it doesn't overheat.
The dash is all there, and all of the gauges work. There is no stereo head unit.
The steering cable is very stiff, but you can steer the boat with some effort.Throttle and transmission cables seem to be in good shape.
The prop, rudder and tracking fins are in good shape.
The swim platform needs to be brought back to life, but it is solid and should be easily restorable.
Hours are high at 1,700 but I have had other Ski Nautiques with over 2,000 hours that were still running strong. I don't see any reason to believe that this engine is nearing end-of-life.
The trailer is a 1997 Eagle brand, built for a Ski Nautique. It isn't beautiful, but it is functional and the lights work.
If you're looking for an inexpensive bubble-back TSC Ski Nautique that you can work on and make beautiful, this may be your boat! If I don't get any serious offers, I will restore this one myself over the winter and make it beautiful!
Clear title for the boat, and bill of sale for the trailer.
