This beauty is still for sale.

The big block engine is a rare commodity. 425 hp!! (Gas useage very reasonable as it runs at low rpms.)

The boat is in excellent condition.

            I'm open to reasonable offers.

The question is -- what is a reasonable offer? I would say NADA price, plus opitions, plus trailer. Or, BUC price, plus trailer. I have seen your boat in person and think it is of average quality and use.

If you are willing to deal within the above prices, I will make a very reasonable offer.

Isn't NADA average retail on this boat $36,345 + trailer? That is with no options other than the tower speakers. So you can add.

+ the tandem trailer..... Not sure if the heater was standard on the TE....so if not, add that in as well.

I guess my point is this.....sounds like the listed price is VERY reasonable. If you want to do NADA +....you will be over the asking price....???

Is that a Team MNSuperAir? I am getting 35,620 with only the engine upgrade? The link has the tower speakers as well, but nothing else....

I see the team edition now. I was using the SAN with the 425hp engine. If you click on the other team you will get the 425 standard I believe

                        NADA

When I look at the NADA for the Team Edition with the standard 425 it says $27,400 low retail $31,290 average retail (see bottom left column -- there are two team edition listed). It's my understanding that the 425 was not an upgrade for this boat, it was part of the package. This is what MNsuperAir noticed too and for some reason it results in a much lower NADA price.

If you look at the BUC price guide (I made a copy about 4 weeks ago) it says the price range is $30,200 to $33,500. This may be a little different now, but you can get to this guide for free online.

I agree you must add for the options and the trailer. The NADA also has a way to value trailers, and I think you come out at around $2,000 for the trailer when using the NADA value guide. I'm not sure how to value the options, and I doubt that, except for the boat cover, there is an independent source to do that?

So, without options, but with trailer I think the range is $29,400 to $35,500. Split that number down the middle. Which seems to be the fairest way, and you get $32,450. I agree that you must add for the options, but give me suggestions on how to value those.

For example, I have a 1990 Ski Nautiuque with two covers, a heater, depth finder, and bimini top. But I really only use one cover and the depth finder -- for me (and I think most people) all options don't have the same value. Sooo what about an unattached fresh air system, chrome tip exhaust, and beverage table -- to me not much value. Now the other extras, I think those would be very nice additions, but at what price? Taking a wild guess, I would say to me they add $1,000 to $2,000 in value. So for me, I would say a fair price is $33,450 to $34,450 --- assuming the boat checks out mechanically an drives well.

SANE owners would you buy this boat at the prices you're suggesting, knowing the NADA and BUC values? That just doesn't make sense to me. This boat has been for sale since at least last October, suggesting it may be outside its range of value.

                          RE: NADA

All you can do is make and offer and see what happens. I am also not sure why the python is cheaper on NADA I think that might be an error. I may stand corrected but not too many boats have them so that is worth additional value.

                            RE: NADA

Great discussion. You guys are really detail oriented. I Could have used your input when I originally bought this beast!!

To answer some of the questions that were brought up....

This is a team edition (hences the title " 02 SANTE" = Super Air Nautique Team Edition).

Duece was correct in his post. The 8.1L engine was an upgrade - not a standard on the team editions. The NADA guide has it listed as a $5,340 upgrade. Heres the Nada site: http://www.nadaguides.com/default.as...=MR&gtc=MR

Hard to calculate the other options I agreee, some add marginal value to the boat, but if you were to purchase a dual axel trailer, filler cushion, optional jump seat, telescoping nav lights, and 4 blade spare prop, I think you would find the costs really add up.

However, it's a moot point now as the boat was just sold this week. The salesman took the new owner out and was actually amazed at the wake this thing produced. The 8.1 engine adds extra weight in the back and really contributes to the wake. I hope he enjoys the new purchase!!

                            Thanks all

I think this is the boat I just bought from the Omaha Marine Center. If so I'm wondering where the extra parts went. No tower speakers, FAE, table, spare prop. Pawn shop I guess. Ateast the engine was still included. Owner did not take care of this boat but the price was right and the boat needed to be saved. Not sure why sellers use consignment. The dealer charged the seller a ton to prep the boat for sale, new blower, alternator, plugs, bilge, oil, tranny, wheel bearings, detail cleaning plus labor. I talked the dealer down easily as the dealer quickly agreed the cosmetics were not kept up. Good deal for me as this boat will last my family 10-15 yrs and will still hold its value while I actually take care of it.
