It honestly never occurred to me people would think because the boat is near Salt Lake City that they would think we'd boat on in a salt lake. I thought everyone knew the Great Salt Lake was essentially a garbage lake that nobody recreated in. It's interesting to get other's perspectives and now it helps that people might actually think that. I may update the description to state that.

Agreed. Not going to be much of a Lake in a few years if the water levels keep dropping, some major concerns here, for the whole valley.
Made a scoot down to Grantsville this Fall to see an Aunt and Cousins. I can't beleive how much that Lake has receeded, unbelievable. I don't think you could get a boat on it even if you wanted to...

I have always wondered if Great Salt Lake was used recreationally. Good to know!

Well ****! This wasn't under my tree on Sunday and I see it is still here. North Pole is for sure getting a nasty letter.

Bump ya up and I get an image fix!

LOL gotcha! I looked at a 230 Coastal years back from a guy in SLC, and the boat was virtually destroyed from all the salt corrosion! Total waste of a drive out there! I just assumed he spent time on the GSL. I was so frustrated with how badly he misrepresented it that I didn’t even ask. I just shook my head at how ruined the boat was, got in my truck, and headed back to CO. I have ALWAYS thought the GSL was really gross, so I’m glad to know people don’t get in that nasty water. I had no idea people didn’t use it for some boating, though.
I’m interested in talking to you about your boat. I’m in AZ nowadays so not too far. Could you PM me your number and we can discuss? Thanks!

Bump up. Water situation looking much better out west. Don't miss out by being stuck on land!

I doubt it. I'll look around and see if I can find it and post it here if I do.

Off topic, sorry, but you guys are getting pounded with snow, I was there last week and woke up to about 8" on the rental car. Another 12" plus this last Monday?
Thinking lake Mead & Powell may see a 40 to 60' rise in water pool this Spring, man you need it. Hope they're not busting out the sand bags along the streets of down town Salt Lake like in 2004.
Good luck with the boat, sounds like you have some interest.

uwhusky If you email Nautique customer service with your hull ID, they should be able to provide you with a build sheet.

I meant to say the flood of 1983, I was close, give or take 20 years.
Speaking of which, this picture came up on Facebook today:

                          Downtown SLC, 1983

MN Ryan I've emailed Nautique and will let you know when I hear back.

Scooter G I was not living around here in 1983 but have seen the photos and heard about it. This year has more snow pack (by a long shot) than 1983. I think SLC is better prepared for the water this time but it will be interesting to see. The streams and rivers will all be running high but hopefully we can divert most of that water in to the lakes and reservoirs.

I've already got my Lake Powell plans in place and will be visiting many of the local reservoirs and lakes when not in Lake Powell. Last year, many of them were closed due to low water.

                              Bring on the water!
Man, I miss Powell. We used to hit that every Summer. Had a Buddy that had a 2 week lease on a 75' house boat. 2 big screen TV's and 2 side by side refrigerators, thing was a beast.
Nothing like ripping through the narrow rock canyons of Powell at full pin on a jet ski. Jaw was sore for another 2 weeks just from smilin'.
