    Tower and Boom

I have an '06 206 and to pass time this winter I often daydream about what I think I want to put on the boat. Anyway, I know for sure I am picking up a boom, and was wondering how well that would work if I put a tower on the boat, too. I looks like there would be room for the boom between the windshield and the space where the tower mounts to the boat, but that it may be a tight fit. Does the tower have a spot certain on the boat where it needs to be mounted, or is there some room for moving the tower a little forward or back to accomodate the boom. In some of the pictures I've seen with 206's that have a tower, it looks like the boom would fit but that if you wanted to swing out from the boat that the tower base may be in the way. Any comments from those that have both a tower and use a boom is much appreciated. Thanks.

I use a boom on my Air 206 - tower is mounted in the factory location - and I have a BI offset boom. The boom extends to the rear of the back tower leg, and I let the rubber pad on the boom rest on the aluminum tower foot - so the boom never touches the gelcoat. This works really well. You cannot fully open the observer seat with the boom in this position, but it is still partially accessible.

I would recommend getting the height adjuster and the boom extension. I currently don't have the extension and when my kids ski off the boom you have to get the speed just right to keep them out of the chine spray. Another foot or so extension would solve this. It would also help get the line higher when barefooting off the 7 foot line... a la Lane Dawg Bowers.
