WANTED! GLOVEBOX COVER FOR 1990 SKI NAUTIQUE

Our new boat is in great shape but the dark plastic cover for the glovebox on the dash is busted. The screws and screw holes are still in tact so what im looking for is just a cover, ours is broken all the way across. Is there a Nautique junkyard anywhere? Does anyone know where to find such an item?

Also is this a locking glovebox or is it just a latch?

    Thanks,

    Tucker

I would try White Lake Marine or Midwest Correct Craft.

Yes, the glove box should lock via a key in the push button for the latch. Different key than the ignition though. I always planned to design a different glove box cover (wood or carbon fiber) for my '90 but never got to it during the 6 yrs I had it. I bought new cover the first year and cracked it again by year two. First time it closes on a towel or shirt, it will be cracked again. Common problem. I am thankful CC designed it differently on our 2001 Air.

Unfortunately now the thing is so heavy it'll take a finger off if you're not careful. Everytime someone that is not aware of it's weight opens the glovebox, I have to remind them to hold on to it tightly when closing it.

          is the latch available separately???

the carbon fiber sounds like a great idea but is the a way to just get a replacement latch?

I'm sure that you can just order the latch from a dealer. Isn't it the exact same one that's on the ski locker compartment, or is the size different?

The 1990 Ski latch is a round push button style with a hook on the bottom. Very strange setup. '90 ski did not have a locker so it is unique to that glove box.

i asked White Lake and they said the whole assembly is $169, but if its flimsy i would rather go with a custom option since i still have the hinge, etc... rather then get the whole thing and have it break again.
