WTB 90-96 Sport Nautique for around 10k

I am looking for a nice Sport Nautique 1990 to 1996 for wakeboarding. I am located in AUBURN, AL. I would like to spend $10,000 or less. Less than 800hrs. apholstry and Floor in good condition. swapped to new ignition is a plus. Wakeboard tower is also a plus.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Is 10k to low for a nice boat in this range?

From what I've seen, any boat in good condition bottoms out around $15K. Below that and you're looking at some sort of restoration work.

I would say 10 - 11k is reasonable. I bought a '91 Sport for around this a year ago in Atlanta when the economy was much better. Ignition was swapped out and it has a Monster Tower. Used it all last summer - this is a great all-around family boat - skiing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, tubing or just hanging out - has to be one of the best for that price. I found it on Atlanta Craigslist, I was looking at both the Atlanta and Birmingham sites. Good luck with your search.

I would say 10,000 is good for a 89-92 sport you will pay more for a 93 and up but there is no wood in the boat. Not that wood is a bad thing most are fine but you want to make sure that there are no bad spots.

So I found a 93 sport nautique for 10k. It has 1yr old interior and the gel coat is faded. 500+hrs on the original motor.
Only downside is it gets left outside uncovered year round. although he does winterize it.

There are no soft spots in the floor. What else can be damaged from leaving it outside?

There should be no wood in the floor of a 93 which is good. I would look at the seat base to make sure they are in good shape. My 90's are a fiberglass over wood and the passanger side wood rotted out. Not sure if the bases in the 93 is the same or not. I would guess that seats are going to be in ruff shap and would need to be replaced but the hours low for that year and if you take it out and it runs good I think it sounds like a great deal.

So the floor is fiberglass as well as the stringers in the 93-97s???? Hopefully the seats are in good shape since they were recovered a year ago. Probably going to go pick it up this weekend.
