1995-1999 Super Sport Nautique or Pro Air Nautique

I'm looking at getting into my first boat and am mostly interested in a Super Sport but would also consider a Pro Air Nautique. I am located in Central Ohio but would be willing to drive if the situation is right. Let me know what you've got.

Unless you plan on doing a lot of skiing, get a super sport. If you plan on skiing, like to work on engines yourself (d-drives are way easier), and/or really appreciate the better handling of a d-drive, get an Air. The only reason to get a Pro Air is if you get a really good deal. I say that because the Pro Air wakeboard and surf wake is only marginally better than the Air, but not as good as the SS. The Pro Air ski wake is not as good as the Air. However, if you are heavy into wakeboarding and/or wakesurfing, get the SS. You will be better off.

This is coming from an owner of a d-drive Air. I love my boat, but I never ski. I can get a good wakeboard wake and a surfable wake, but I'd love it just a bit more if it were a v-drive. My problem is that it is near impossible to find my exact color scheme in a 1999 Super Air or Super Sport... that and after all the updrades I have done, I can't bear to sell mine.

Note, the hull shape on the pre-98 sports is the same as the super sports, so you can get a pretty comparable wake (if you weight it down big-time), but you have no space if you do so.

Thanks for the advice. I am really interested in the Super Sport and have been searching for one for some time now. I have missed out on a few but am now in more of a position to buy if I find the right deal. As you were saying, it would take a really good deal for me to get the Pro Air or Air. I mostly wakeboard and would like to learn to surf but I do have some friends that like to ski. Again, thanks for the info.

        Purchased a boat yet?

I saw your possible interest in a Pro Air Nautique.

I have a 2000 75th Anniversary Masters Edition Pro Air Nautique - Hunter Green and Almond that we are selling.

I am the original owner, purchased 04/00. 95.4hrs on GT40 PCM engine. Upgraded clarion stereo, Always stored in climate controlled garage. Like new. If you would like, I can send some pics and if you are interested, we can go from there. Let me know an email address and I'll send em along.
        Thanks

There is a 1995 SS advertised on onlyinboards.com (ian brown's site), 600 hr $18K. I had mine shipped from Chicago to AZ, it cost me about 800$ so keep that in mine
