Mark, Cotton, Jim, Rob, and other 196 hopefuls... Do you think CC would take it seriously if a group order for 10 to 15 boats was presented to them? I don't know if that's nearly enough to break out the molds, and I imagine some of the dash parts would need to be updated with the newer supplies (gauges, etc.)? Also, the price may not even be worth it, but one would think there is a magic number to get some boats built? One more chance to buy a brand new one, and I'd keep it shrink wrapped, under a fan, in a heated garage until I could use it. I'm not trying to start any discussion/discord with the 200 guys, it's just that there's obviously a market for these out there, as demonstrated by how fast they sell. It can't be just price either IMHO.

I would be a prospect; so when are you going to call and ask them?
CC got back to me and said they would build them, but the minimum order would be roughly 25-30 boats. I think it comes down to a million dollar order. The list just dropped by one, as my brother just ordered a 200.

Really? I may be a serious prospect; can you give the contact person you spoke to? Thanks!
Friend and neighbor in the engineering department at CC. Sorry to say for the die hard closed riders the 196 is gone. I understand the want to go back, I wish they went back to the old plant 1 mile down the road from me and dropped there prices as well. DD ran Walt out and from a price perspective its been getting ridiculous ever since
Also heard Mastercraft is entering its last year producing the 197. 2013 will bring a new entry for their 3 event boat line-up.

No “die hard closed rider” here BroncoSki. I think the 200 open bow out tracks and has a better wake than the 196. I just haven’t yet been able to digest the additional $$$, along with the much higher RPM’s and fuel consumption.
