    WTB: Wakeboard Boat

As a teen my parents had an X-star and I have been missing those wakeboarding days. So I convinced my wife that we should get a family boat!!! Her only condition was that I spend no more then 15K. I have been researching and looking for a good boat in that range for 5 months now, it is a difficult task getting what I am looking for in that price range. I need something big enough for family and a few friends, It has to have a tower, I need a good wake because I love getting air, so most likely something with ballast tanks/bags, and if I am lucky, perfect pass also. I did find an Air Nautique in really nice condition with higher hours (700) that he said he might be willing to do for that. Do you guys think that is a good deal or is there better things out there? Can anyone tell me the difference between the air and super air, the super seems to get me more excited and scare me that the air won't give me the wake I am looking for? Anyone know of any smoking deals out there for me. By the way I live in Oregon but would be willing to travel to WA, CA, ID areas if needed. Thanks for any help I can get.

The earlier Sport Nautiques (I think 93-97) have the same hull as the first generation Super Air 210s, just with the engine in the middle(direct drive). Also a Super Sport Nautique is the same boat as the first Super Air Nautiques, but they did not come from the factory with a tower and ballast. By now, most of them have had the tower/ballast added by the owner. I think a 95/96 Super Sport might be in your budget, and would have a better seating/storage arrangement and a better wake than an Air or Sport Nautique.

I would also look into the mid-late 90s Sanger V210 and Malibu Sunsettee VLX. These would throw a good wakeboard wake and have the better seating/storage of a vdrive.

There's a Super Sport and a Sanger V210 for sale near your price range on Onlyinboards. If they don't have hard wired ballast, then you could buy a couple bags and a ballast pump for cheap and save up to install a ballast system later.

Thanks for the advice, I am looking into that Sanger and a Super Sport, they both look nice, have lot's of room, and would be a great all around boat for my price range.

I think for your "mission profile" a Vdrive will be a priority for you as you haven't mentioned skiing in what interests you. A V drive also allows for a bigger contiguous main cabin.
A '95-99 Super Sport/Super Air could probably be found in your price point, but you may have to search for one in good condition in your area. The Ford GT40 from that era is a very good engine for wakeboarding and other watersports. The Sangers can be had for a good deal and are good boats for the money, as are the Malibu VLX's for wake performance. The older Malibu's are not as well built as the CC from the time frame you are considering.
          Good hunting!
