Searching for a good used Correct Craft. I drove a friend of mine and fell in love with the boat. What would you recommend in the CC line for $20,000/under for a Skier and Wakeboarder? I did not like the way the super sport drove. Any Recommendations out there?

RE: Looking to Buy a Used Correct Craft
Well, the super sport is what I like and have. The 216, sport nautique, air nautique (almost the same boat with different names and packages) will handle more like a traditional ski boat because the engine is in the middle.
You should be able to find nice ones, in very decent shape for that amount of money. The super sport, 210 and super air are the same boat, so if you don't like one, stay away from all of them. The 206 is more agile, faster, less wake, and cheaper, but has less room inside.if you buy a late 90s to '03 they will all have the same engine a Ford 351W marinized by PCM, with PCM transmission. This avoids the reverse rotation engine of the earlier Nautiques.

I have a 99 SNOB and it handles just like a CB. The only diff in the open & closed bow boats is that the cockpit is moved back a couple of inches. This is true for the 97-99 SNOB.
The 206 is a great boat, the biggest advantage is the walk thru bow design.
Good Luck

just keep in mind that any boat will handle different with folks in the bow or not. My Sport handles a bit different when the bow is empty versus full....not a big deal, but a difference.88 Ski Nautique

I believe 2003 was the first year for the 206 which is also referred to as the Ski Nautique Open Bow.
Mettynet,
In your price range you will most likely be looking at a mid to late 90's Ski Nautique open or closed bow, I think the closed bows are a bit tougher to find. In the same model years the Sport Nautique could also be an option, that boat is +/- 6" shorter than a 216 or longer than a 206. The sports were also done as "Air Nautiques" which for a few years could be had with the slalom hull TSC or wakeboard hull TWC, I believe the Airs started in 98' and will generally be more in the mid $20k price range.
If you go with a closed bow having a tower will help with storage when equipped with board/ski racks and it is also nice to foot or wakeboard from the tower, when pulling from a tower passengers can also sit in the back seat.
One more thing to keep in mind, when looking at used boats a general rule of thumb on hours is around 50 per season is average use.
Good luck with your search.

Im pretty sure SNOB's have been available since 92. Pre FI era. Throttle body FI started in 94 and the MPI FI starts in 95 w/ the true GT-40. 196 hulls basically the same 90-96 and w/ weight will be a better wakeboard wake over the 97+ TSC which are better slalom boats. IMO both are more versatile with a FCT, they need it they are smaller. The Ski Nautique wake will never be SAN like but it will handle better and more fun to drive.
