the smallest I found was the Hyperlite motive 109 cm but it was used by 8 and 9 year olds, then they used a 119. There are sizing guides based on the rider weight that you can find on line.

Hey, just for fun, once you get them (4 and 5 year olds) booted up, you want to check they can roll over in the water from stomach to back in case they happen to fall. When the board floats with the feet locked in, they'll be laying "prone" in the water, and that means face down. With a USCG jacket on they can raise their face up out of the water, but being able to roll over is reassuring to the little kids. Teaching kids is very rewarding experience that requires time and patience.

I never found one, but I heard of a "fun board" which might be easier place to start, I think Air Tool has the market on them.

We use the Ronix Vision in our school and I have had great success with it. I have taught someone as young as 3 years old on it just so they can get up, and I have had some groms shred on it.

We started with the Motive 109 at that age. Started directly off a boom, then short rope off the boom, and then medium rope off the tower. The first 2 allow you to talk easily to the kid.
When they grew a bit, moved to the Ronix Vision.

HS is correct make sure they can role over by themselves first!!!

Well I stuck my 11 yr old on my trip and he popped up instantly. It freaked him out a bit. But I know the board is too big.

I'm still looking for something my 9 and 11 yr old can enjoy

My oldest, currently 8, started just shy of 7 yrs old on a LiquidForce Nemesis. It was a perfect size for him - don't recall the exact size, maybe the 111.

You can find the measurement chart at this link:
                http://www.liquidforce.com/wakeboards-nemesis.html

Kids at this age get up on plane so quickly, so I believe you are better off getting them something where they can build confidence and be in control of the board.

Now, the fact they outgrow their boots so quickly is another story....!!
