Teleflex LCD Tach wanted/working or not

Looking to buy a 2000-2002 Teleflex Tach, I used the heat gun/eraser technique to revive my speedo, but I cracked the tach screen while working on it. I would like to find a non-working tach and use the screen to plug into the 'brains' of my tach and try to get the hours out of mine.

I'm sure someone has one in a box somewhere!

    Thanks!

I went with Faria analog for now. I'm still trying to devise a way to get the hour reading out of my old tach.

      Thanks.

If you have perfect pass, the hours are reported there, too. You push the same pair of buttons to report the water temp.

In my case, the tach hours match the perfect pass hours, and my PP is old, so it obviously was original.

I can send you my gauge when I swap that from SpeedHut in a few weeks. I'd just ask you pay me a deposit that I'd refund when I have the gauge back. I want to keep it for my own hours record-keeping, in case, PP fails at some point.

BTW - I have a complete and nearly new Hydrphase GPS speed controller that I planned to sell in the Spring.

I installed on my old boat and used for 9 months, before an on-trailer accident totaled it.

If you are interested, perhaps we could work something out. I prefer it to Perfect Pass, but don't want to spend 4 to 6 hours removing one and installing the other. The interface is nicer, especially the dial knob for adjusting the target speed.

DW, What did you order from speed hut? Teleflex doesn't sell the replacement analog gauges any longer, as far as I know, and I don't like the Faria ones.

                Hi,
It looks like this. Tried to copy the font and needles on the other analog gauges. I think it was on sale, too.

They have a lot of options. Lead time is about one month to delivery.

They can do a matching GPS speedometer for a bit more. Those are $200 - ish, I think. I'm just going to buy a Nautique blanking plate for my speedo since perfect pass reads that out.

Doug, I would happily pay to use your old tach, however the process I need to do requires opening the tach by removing the glued on bezel. Unfortunately on both my my speedo and tach the bezel edges cracked as I carefully tried to separate it from the body of the gauge. No big deal since I wasn't planning on reusing them.

I have some ideas on how to get my LCD in the tach to work just enough to read the hours but it requires many hours of 0 gauge wire soldering between the circuit board and display and I won't get to it for awhile.

Thanks for your offer, I really appreciate it!
