    Used Marine Audio Equipment

Looking for used audio equipment including head unit and four marine speakers. The headunit in my 196 is burned out, would like to replace it with a used one but don't want to spend much. If someone has a used one on their shelf and wants to get rid of it I would be happy to try to work out a deal. Also looking for four new speakers, my current speaker covers look terrible so was thinking something like the old Polk Audio from the Team Editions would be great.

Don't need the latest and greatest.. just hoping for something that works.

    Thanks

So I just went through the tunes in my 206 - feels like I'm about 2 steps ahead of you on all these teething issues. I too was budget minded....here's what I did.

My head unit was OK. I did learn there are integrated head units that replace the factory in dash clarion remote - like these - but you have the "oval problem". IE - the dash plate on our years is designed for an oval unit and it's like $125 or something to get the later model round plate from Nautique parts. Ouch! Maybe you can get an OE clarion head unit someone pulled from their boat? I like the clarion unit...works OK for 15 year old tech...I added a $35 bluetooth dongle so I stream tunes from my phone.

For speakers, I got these from this ebay seller - guy took a $110 offer (delivered price). Pretty much the same price as buying something used.

I added this Kenwood Class D amp to get a little volume. Youtube contributor has a good test of this amp; lots of zip for the $.

    Good luck!

1997 Masters Edition Nautique - Zephyr Green - gone (amazing ski wake)
1982 Mastercraft Powerslot - gone (a primitive but wonderful beast)

Thanks! Great idea on the speakers, will check those out.

The 196 doesn't actually have a remote so I don't have the oval issue with this boat (I do with the 226). I have found some used Clarion HUs near the boat, may try to use one of those and get those speakers to keep cost below 160 to have everything working.

Which Dongle did you end up picking up? Did you have to tap 12v and a ground for it?
