    Round Aquatic Device Wanted?

I'm pretty sure I want a 4' round disc to ride, anybody got one or want to advise me against it.

I remember a family on the lake when I was growing up that made several of these of various sizes. They used to do things like sit on a chair while pretending to read a paper and stuff. About all you need to make one is a half sheet of 1/2" plywood, a saber saw and a router with a round over bit to make it. The finish you apply will depend on how crazy you want to get and how long you want it to last. Most of the ones I've seen were just painted or varnished and some of them had that old sandpaper traction pad material on it to help you stay on the board.

These days I'd consider doing an update to the original design and seal the wood with some type of resin then using some foam traction material in the center.

If you want something that is probably much safer and can be bought off the shelf HO still makes the RAD.....

No reason not to try something like this, they can be a ton of fun and break up normal riding experience.

Just remember to say that famous line before going for that first ride, "here, hold my beer, watch this".

You can do the above, and even put a small 'fin' in the back if you want to keep in somewhat straight... Or leave it off and have at it! We did it long time ago and even put a step ladder on it and rode it lol..

only thing I will add is my crazy cousin made a disc with a chair mounted to it (nailed the legs to it thru the bottom) and also added bent piece of emt conduit so he could sit in the chair on the disc whilst taking a "shower". he also skied in the shows at callaway gardens back then. saw him jump off the top of the pavillion with a couple of other guys and they all deep water barefooted away....man those were some good times watching that nut!!!...
