    Rankin Cover Group Buy 2008

Due to the overwhelming success of the group buys last year, Rankin has expressed interest in another one. This is the perfect chance to get a new cover before summer hits!

Anyone with a Rankin cover (especially those who participated in the last group buys), feel free to add comments. These covers are terrific!

The logistics will hopefully be a little more streamlined than last year. Many questions were asked and answered in the previous buys- here are the links to them:

    http://planetnautique.com/index.php?...pic&t=7179
    http://planetnautique.com/index.php?...pic&t=7697

    Background info:
Rankin offers top of the line Sunbrella covers that are truly trailerable. Their workmanship is top notch. The covers use a drawstring that tightens with a ratchet system and attaches firmly to the rub rail, so no snaps are necessary. The covers fit so well that no support poles are needed to shed water.

This group buy is applicable to any boat for which Rankin has a template. They claim that they have all Correct Craft templates dating back to sometime in the 80's. I am sure that they have the Ski Nautique template back to '89. For other years and models, contact Rankin directly to confirm availability.

See Rankin’s website for more information: http://www.rankincovers.com/

    Pricing Information:

    Other Details:
All Boats with Towers will require certain measurements to ensure an accurate cover. Descriptions of the measurements you need to take will be available on the order form instructions.

No cleat or gas filler doors will be offered on the covers. Rankin has offered to send a small amount of extra fabric (for a small charge) to those who would like to have these options added locally.

    Colors:
All of Rankin’s standard colors are eligible for this group deal.

Note: Red (Jockey or Logo) fabric is now an upcharge of $50

The full color list is as follows:

*For better legibility on the names of the colors, see Rankin's website:

    http://www.rankincovers.com/product-info.htm

    Shipping:
Shipping charges will be the actual shipping cost from their facilities in Oregon. Shipping in the continental U.S. should range from approximately $15-$30.

    Warranty:
Rankin’s standard warranty still applies. This warranty will cover the Sunbrella material for 5 years from the date of purchase. There is a lifetime warranty (for the original purchaser) on the workmanship of the cover.

    How to Order:
Download the order form (with instructions) here: Order Form

Follow the instructions on the order form. Once complete, delete the instructions and email the order form to me. When I have collected enough orders, I will submit them to Rankin.

    Payment:
Once I submit the orders, Rankin will take your payment directly. They take Mastercard and Visa. They can be reached at (425) 483-9266 from 7am - 4pm Pacific Standard Time. Be sure to mention my name and this group buy.

I do not have a date when we will stop accepting orders for this group buy, but I will update this post when I do. I expect to start submitting orders in groups so that they may start production.

    Thank you for your interest!

Just a heads up, that link for the order form (from uploading.com) might be NSFW

They have rotating banner links on the page, and some of them are definitely a no no at work or with small kids around.

Dang, none of those popped up on me before! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Let me see if I can find another host.

Edit: Jeff, can you please edit the upload link in my post above? The new one is:

Does anyone have the sun skirts? I'm guessing that they can be removed, right? If so, is it a zipper or button snap that holds it in place?

I do- my '90 is the one pictured above. They attach with heavy duty zippers, and can be detached while towing.

I think the last time we did not publish actual pricing. In this go around, there is a section fro pricing, but I did not notice what the percentage discount was for XX number of covers. I am definately in this year. Has the order form changed? I downloaded one from the last group buy and I put my measurements for the tower on it.

I generally post the pricing info while the buy is going on, and remove it afterwards. The discounted price is really no one's concern after the buy is complete.

There is no sliding price scale- its not dependant on the number of participants- the prices are set and listed above, so get in while you can! The order form is slightly different than last year, so please download a new one and follow the attached instructions. The measurements, however, are the same- so just transfer them over.

Tim, I sent you a PM, but I notice on the Rankin site there are only 6 measurements for a tower and on your order form, there are 8? What needs to be done. I started transferring measurments and got confused. I would like to place my order with this first round if possible.

Eric, I didnt get any PM from you. I would recommend that you take all 8 measurements- thats the best way to ensure a good fit. Im not familiar with the changes on Rankins website- but give them a call and see what they say. If they say you can get by with 6, go for it!
