Have you heard if Rankin will be doing a group buy this year? Maybe with the economy the way it is, they might go for it again?

Jack, I havent spoken to Rankin recently- but I should put a call in. I still doubt they'll be up for doing another one, but then again, I said that last year. Ill report back if they have some interest.

I can think of a few people who'd be interested...and I definitely would be. What was the markdown in the past group buys?

I dont think it appropriate to share the pricing from past group buys- not much good can come of it.

I can put a call into Rankin to see if theyre interested in doing another small buy- considering the state of the economy, maybe they could use a quick boost in sales.

For me to organize it again, it would be on a pretty small scale. I would have to know exactly who was interested and it would be a one-and-done type of deal. Past buys grew too complicated and it required a lot of effort to keep organized. Have everyone you know that is 100% sure that they want a cover post in this thread and we'll go from there.

I'm in if we can get a definitive answer quickly. I've been chasing them for a while to get a claification on the fit for my boat. I spoke to them today and was told 4-5 weeks lead time right now, so it sounds like they are pretty busy.

Let me know what you find out.

I havent called them in regards to another group buy yet. Id like to know that we had a set number of people (say, 5?) ready to pull the trigger in one shot, which would make it a pretty easy sell. I dont want things to get complicated- it makes it more trouble than its worth for both me and Rankin. I'm out. I would really like the Rankin cover but I feel that's better geared towards towing and I rarely tow more than 20 miles. Given the price difference and my needs, I'm going with the Carver. Tim, I appreciate the help and good luck to everyone for the group buy.
