    Hi everyone-

Will alerted me to this thread, sorry I didn't see it earlier. We would love to help Nautique owners get their ballast systems setup in time for spring, and since this is all we do, we're available to help out with any questions you have about designing and installed an integrated system.

We also want to make the components as affordable as possible, so in addition to the standard 10% discount we offer for all Planet Nautique members I would love to offer a discount based on quantity for Jabsco pumps, bags, fittings or any other components.

Also, just to clarify, no one that sells the Ballast Puppy will include the "best impeller Jabsco offers", as that's not available packaged with the pump right now. The top-of-the-line impeller is the green compound version, which is what Mastercraft and Supra/Moomba have started installing in their boats from the factory. It's slightly more resistant to heat difference, reverses directions a little better, and most importantly will stop the issue of water bleeding past the impeller when the pump is turned off. Like I said, that's not currently available prepackaged with the pump, so it would need to be purchased separately.

Let me know if you guys would like me to look into pricing for the group buy and I'll put together some numbers based on the quantities that have been discussed in this thread.

    Thanks,

    Jason

      STOP!!! DO NOT ORDER!

I spoke with WAKEMAKERS and they can do "SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER" than the $179 price I listed through imarine.com and the wakeskishop.com price. They asked that I get a definite on quantity and they will submit a quote. However, I repeat they promise a "SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER" price than $180.

I can probably be counted on for 2, Im just a bit concerned I may be biting off more than I can chew with the install/plumbing in of a fat seat and a bow sack.

I already was going to buy 3 more pumps from Jason and WakeMakers. I'm also getting all my bags and fittings from him.

If he is the source of the group buy, I'm 100% for 3.

What is the price for the replacement/improved green impeller? It would be good to have these on the shelf for when the yellow impellers wear out.

Any possible credit back for not using the toggle switches?

I have not purchased yet, so add my 3. I will look to see what else I need, but I may need custom sacks for the rear of my 99 Air. Crap, I meant to measure that yesterday. I think there is a pre-made sac for Mastercrafts that would work... but as I said, I forgot to measure. I want 2 in my stern locker. Oh, and I need almost everything:

                Needs:

                3x puppies with 3 switches
                2x rear bags
                (have locker sack already)
                quick connects for 3 bags
                1 x bronze ball valve
1 x bronze thru hull with screen
1 x thru hull (for venting center sack)
Some amount of tubing (have not measured)
Some kind of manifold (preferably bronze and preferably 4 outlets with 1 capped for future expansion if needed.
                electrical wiring

That hopefully covers it. I'll have to check the site to see which of these other items they carry.

If anyone has a 98-99 Sport or Air direct drive and knows the measurement of the stern locker (without the hard tanks), I would greatly appreciate you sharing that valuable info. I'm thinking that a pair of Fly High Pro Mastercraft X2 sacs 18"x20"x32" might work pretty well.

We will have green impellers on the shelf in two weeks. I'm not 100% certain on the price yet, so I won't post anything publicly, but like the rest of our prices, they will be competitive.

                    Hey Chexi-

Will (wcherashore) and I are actually working on his 2001 Air Nautique (same hull and deck) right now, and he's considered both the X2 Rear Sacs and the Gravity Games Rear Sacs (42" x 19" x 19"). I believe he's leaning towards the Gravity Games bags based on the measurements of the rear locker he pulled without the tanks installed.

We should have everything you need with the exception of the wiring, and we'll have that available shortly. I would not recommend using bronze for your manifold for three reasons:

                    1) It's after your ball valve, so you have an emergency shut-off there which makes bronze in the manifold unnecessary.
                    2) It's much heavier, which puts a lot of stress on your thru-hull intake (which is not designed for moment loading).
                    3) It's much more expensive.

Our HDPE Schedule 80 intake tee and nipple fittings are a great alternative to bronze and will save you a pretty big chunk of change when you're talking about 1" fittings (which is what I would recommend for three pumps).

I have a template in my garage of the floor I built for my rear locker. It measured approximately 62" wide (including curve) and between 18" - 20" front to back. I don't have the depth, but I would estimate about 18". As such, it seems like the X2 sacs would be very close to perfect, and the 2" extra length can probably curve into the gunnel which is open. I think the 2 gravity games sacs (84" wide) is going to leave alot of extra unused sack, which will cut down on useable space when they are empty.

I guess I should figure out (a) what size through-hull and ball valve I currently have (factory stock) and (b) whether I can get rid of the scoop and replace with just a screen through-hull without creating a gelcoat disaster. I might get lucky and be able to use at least the ball valve I already have.

                          Chexi,

As Jason said, I am looking to put a similar system in my 2000 Air... Although the template is 62" in length, when you remove the hard tanks you will gain a fair bit of extra space and I believe all the way accross with hard tanks removed is 82". Right now I am considering v-drive sacks or the gravity games sacks as jason pointed out. What sack are you putting in the locker?

Regarding the stock thru hull, I believe it is 3/4".

I am currently speaking to Jason and he wants to help us all out with more than just pumps... we are working out the details, but hang tight and stay tuned.

Ah yes, I forgot that the hard tanks are taller on the sides, which accounts for the difference in measurement.

I also will need a number of fittings, hoses and check valves. I'll get my list done up this weekend.

Chexi- i'll do some looking for a gelcoat and upholstery guy this weekend. Just got back from the Honeymoon and this week is crazy with catching up on stuff.
