I did get a detailed response back on my questions yesterday but I'll be out for this go around. Mine was going to be $560 + $40 in shipping for a through hull with blended welds before discount. A bit more than I'm willing to pay at this point but what really put the nail in this one for me was that they needed dimensions from the boat and the boat is up north in storage some 160 miles away. Also considering swapping boats in the spring while the covid prices are still hot so putting $600 into an upgrade potential buyers are not going to pay extra for isn't the smartest move right now for me.

So while I like the concept and the options I picked I'm out and will reevaluate next year. I did get the through hull instructions if anyone needs them.....

bturner is correct, all of these units are custom, and you will need measurements from your boat. If you are interested, you may want to get them now. I attached the measurement form they sent me when i ordered mine last year.

In my opinion, ( not that it's worth anything ) I think weather you are selling your boat or keeping it, the FAE is a good upgrade. If you sell it the new owner is probably going to want one, and getting it at a discount, and already having it installed would be a great selling point. I have talked to at least 4 friends looking for boats, and they all have asked me about my FAE, how easy is it to install, and cost. They all would prefer it already be on the boat.

I sent them a note Monday about the through-hull options for my '05 216 and they sent me a detailed response including the instructions. It's as per the write up above so I think I'm going the through hull option as I like the clean look without any bracket.

One question I pose to anyone here that has the through hull option, how does the FAE hold up over time when regularly running the boat at 40+mph? We actually don't really surf more than once a year as our main use is hydrofoil, slalom and barefoot speeds.

Hi all! Just a quick note on the group buy -
We appreciate everyone's patience and are working to reply to everyone as quickly as possible. I believe everyone that reached out to us has been contacted (at this moment). It looks like instructions have been posted but we're happy to answer additional questions. One question we continue to get is in regards to measurements. Yes, most all Nautique systems are custom built to account for small variations in outlet placement for each boat. If measurements are needed off your boat, we will request them at the time you order. MEASUREMENTS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PLACE YOUR ORDER AND LOCK IN THE DISCOUNT. If you want to take advantage of the group buy but don't have access to your boat or time to get measurements, no worries. No charge is automatically made to your card at checkout and we will follow up with you to confirm all details. Please let our team know if we can help. Thanks again for the continued support and opportunity to make your boat even better (and safer)!

Are there any additional pictures of the sealant needed on the exhaust outlet for the through hull installation? I'm debating between through hull or bracket installation.

Was going to go ahead and place my order and looks like less than 5 have ordered since it is only $50 discount and $40. I am sure it is a larger box and packing, but dang.

It will update to the $75 off after the rest order. Before i set this up we had like 20 people interested, i would be shocked if less than 5 order. I don't have a dog in this fight though, i ordered mine last year.

All makes sense and I agree, went ahead and placed it either way.

I placed my order yesterday. It showed the same $50 off. There should be more than 5 by now.

3M5200 is recommended for the through hull installation.
