    FRESH AIR EXHAUST GROUP BUY
    $50 OFF EACH FAE ORDER
    5 OR MORE PARTICIPANTS = $75 OFF
Planet Nautique Members Fresh Air Exhaust group buy will run from 10/16 – 10/25/2020.
    LEARN MORE at www.FreshAirExhaust.com

We have a surf exhaust for every Correct Craft, both dual and single exhaust outlet. Our Fresh Air Exhaust systems are the original surf exhaust, working to make boating safer and more enjoyable since 2004. With the FAE installed, you will experience reduced exhaust fumes (include carbon monoxide) by at least 90% and reduced engine noise, up to 50%. We are the cleanest and quietest exhaust system for every inboard boat! If your boat does not already have a Fresh Air Exhaust, now’s a great time to change that!

Everyone participating in the group buy can place their order online at https://www.freshairexhaust.com/your-boat/nautique/
    or by calling 512-647-7321.

When ordering, use promo code PNFALL20 to be included in the group buy (cannot be combined with any other offer and is only available on direct, retail Fresh Air Exhaust orders). The group buy discount is $50 off each participating order. Once the group buy reaches 5 participants, the discount will increase to $75*. *(Once the group buy reaches 5 participants, the first 4 participants will automatically have their discount increase to $75).

When checking out online, please note that no charge is automatically made to your card entered at checkout. The standard FAE for any Correct Craft with single exhaust outlet has a support bracket that mounts to your center transom bracket (not the platform itself). We can also make your FAE a through hull mount if you prefer (no external bracket). *The thru hull option is not currently listed online so please note in the comments box when checking out if you are interested in a through hull mount or would like more information on that option. Our team will follow up with each boat owner to verify details of the order and request measurements if necessary to complete the FAE build. Our typical turnaround time is one week.

Any questions can be directed to our team at mail@FreshAirExhaut.com or by calling 512-647-7321.

To anyone debating this: I highly recommend it.
I worked with FAE in august to purchase a “through hull” mounted exhaust that resembles the stock nautique surf pipe on newer models as I did not care for the original style FAE.
Installation was quick and FAE provided easy to follow instructions. My boat is the red one in the 1st picture if you share to see the “through hull” option.

As mentioned by others, the FAE greatly reduces exhaust noise and eliminates exhaust fumes while underway.

Extra cost for through hull? Looks clean.

I emailed them tonight. I’ll be purchasing after they help me decide what options to get.

So why no follow up on any of the questions? I'm an interested customer but I'm not getting a warm feeling here. It's not like this is a $20 purchase. Is there anyone that can answer these questions?

Here are the instructions that came with mine. I have no clue how the thru-hull one installs.

FYI, I have no affiliation with FAE, I just happen to be the one that contacted them last year about the group buy. Since they deemed it successful last year, and people asked for a group buy this year, I tried to put it together. If you have specific questions about the different types and installs I would reach out to them.

Thanks, that helps. Just remember no good deed goes unpunished...... Kidding of course. I, and I think everyone else appreciates your efforts here.

I'm going to contact them directly today and see if I can get the instructions on the through hull.

I ended up doing the through hull install on my '08 230 in about 2.5 hours.
I did mine while in a kayak behind my boat since my boat is on a pneumatic lift and i no longer have a trailer.
The install was done with standard tools listed on the instructions from FAE (see attached for 4 documents I recieved from them upon order confirmation). I did not remove my swim platform to do this either.
The only help I had was my fiancee inside the back of my boat when securing the exhaust, as I chose to install their "transom block" on the inside; I needed her to hold it while the 3 FAE bolts were threaded into the transom block.

Original exhaust port removal process: I used de-bond, wooden wedges, masking tape around the exhaust to protect the gel coat, and a rubber hammer as suggested in the through hull install instructions (see attached). When removing the old exhaust port, De-bond was key to breaking down the existing adhesive in a timely manner.

For the install process, I used 3m 5200 fast cure (an entire tube) and took the time to understand the directions prior to install since i didnt want to make a mess rushing the install and risking the 5200 adhesive curing early.
I also used the thicker set of washers as a gap between the FAE and the hull (for the 5200 to create a sealing layer). I had a small, thinner set of 3 washers, as well as a larger, thicker set of 3 washers as extra from FAE, so i opted for the thicker washers as I wanted more 5200 to be between the FAE and the gel coat.
When re-attaching the rubber exhaust coupler to the FAE, I ended up removing the 2 smaller diameter exhaust couplings (1 per side) that are upstream of the muffler, attached the 4" or 5" diameter exhaust coupler downstream of the muffler to the FAE, then re-attached the 2 smaller diameter exhaust couplings since these smaller diameter couplings were easier to bend/maneuver so I could re-attach them in tight quarters.. This seemed impossible to bend the larger 4"/5" coupling and land it around the FAE section that went throught the hull.

                        Notes/Lessons learned:
First - I'd suggest using masking tape on the hull, around where the FAE will go, to cut down the clean up job of overflow adhesive.
I waited about an hour and a half (as per the instructions) prior to trying to remove the leftover 5200, and it was a PITA to remove it all. I should have cleaned up as much as possible with a rag and some IPA after I had the FAE mounted..
Second - I caught 1 discrepancy, and replied to FAE about it after I finished up.
The template I was supplied to drill through the transom did not have it's drill holes matching up with the bolt holes on the FAE (radial distance from the center of the exhaust port was off), or the threaded inserts on the Transom Block. This was not due to a printer error as I had verified measurements after printing. I'm thankful I verified this prior to drilling..
                        I'd recommend doing the same.

I posted 3 additional pictures I sent to FAE after my install. 2 of the transom block connections, and 1 side profile of the exhaust (you might be able to see the marine adhesive thickness betwen the FAE and the gel coat). I spray painted the TB and nearby areas of the interior Matte Black to rid of any leftover 5200 streaks I couldnt clean.

Luckily, i dont have any leaks after about 10 hours of surfing since installed.
For a port side surf wave, I used to only be able to keep my hydrogate at ~2.5 in order to cut down on spray in a surfer's face, but now I can have it all the way forward without producing spray (This I am thankful of). Haven't trialed the starboard side wave yet.

I got nothing other than a note saying they got my note. The write up above basically answered all my questions though.
