2000 -2004 Air Nautique (or Super Air)

ok I have some q's on 2000 - 2004 Air Nautique's direct drive & v drives (super air).
Are the wake size similar between these two types?
what speed do people ride behind these?
Anything to look out for with them?

We are beginers so we don't need pro size wake just something nice :grin:
Also there are none near me to drive so any help is welcome.

The super air nautique will have a bigger wake, it will also be steeper, the boat does have a tendency to be harder for new riders to get used to because the wake really kicks you hard, but it is also the boat that I learned behind so it is not a huge deal. The air will have a smaller and more gentle pop with the same basic shape. The big difference between the two in my opinion is that when you are ready to take your riding to the next level, the air may hold you back because you will be wanting a bigger wake, and there is not as much room to add ballast to that boat, the super air will take you as far as you could ever go as that boat has been the choice of all of the most influential pros in the history of the sport. Another thing to consider, if you like wakesurfing, I would get the super air. Hope this helps.

v drives also have more convenient seating arrangements. as an owner of both, don't sell yourself short. go with the v drive.

V-drive will have a bigger wake, stock vs. stock. You will also like the open seating area ALOT better. I'm SO glad I didn't buy a direct drive for my first boat, because I would have had to sell it to buy a v-drive :mrgreen:

Unless your a competitive slalom skiier who runs the course, go with the V-drive. We have a 2000 Super Air and it produces a great wake even without the ballast. Fill the ballast and get 6 people in the boat and your in for a real treat. We typically wakeboard at 19-24 mph, depending on what the rider prefers. Crank it up to the low to mid 30s and the wake for slalom skiing really isn't that bad for the recreational skiier.

As previously said, you will not out-advance those boats. They still can satisfy even the best riders.

The other posts are not exactly true. At that age, the Sport, Air and Super Air all share exactly the same hull so you can get exactly the same world class boarding wake from any of the boats you mention. The down side with the Sport and Air is that you can't hide all the ballast so you will have sacs lying around on the floor at the stern of the boat.
If you decide you want a totally massive wake, the Super Sport will handle this better due to the fact that the gunnels of the boat are slightly higher expecially at the stern and all the sacs can all be hidden so you keep usable space around the boat. That said, I'm running around 1800lbs in my Sport Nautique (direct drive) and have absolutely no interest in making the wake any bigger, nor do a couple of fat sacs in the back of the boat cause any concern to me.
A direct drive is also cheaper to buy, easier to service and has less bits to go wrong. That wouldn't stop me trading my boat against a Super Air, just thought I'd mention it.

The 2002-2004 Sport/Air Nautique does NOT share the same hull as the 1995-2006 Super Air!

The DD will have a better ski wake, and the VD will have a better wakeboard wake. You can load the crap out of the DD and they will produce a really solid wakeboard wake then. What are you gonna use the boat for?

Ideally I will go for the Super Air but if a Air comes up at the right price I may go that route and upgrade to a super in the future. Does the Air have any under floor ballast?

I need a few measurements to help me with shipping cost's as I will be exporting the boat to Australia

I would need the following measurements to calculate shipping cost to get accurate shipping costs.

- Overall Length of boat on trailer
- Overall Length of boat with out swim platform
- Length of boat
- Beam Width of Boat
- Width of trailer from outside edge of fenders
- Height of boat from ground level to top of tower when colasped

To help you along, I know of one 94 air nautique (sport nautique) that has sold four times in queensland and everytime the owner has sold it they have equalled the price or made money. It last sold for $45g with a rebuilt engine. Cant beat the nautique wake.

Our first boats up to 07 came in containers. 1 60ft container with one 196 ski nautique and 2 210 supers in it. All props, skegs, towers and windscreens removed, the bottom boat had the shaft removed aswell. The boats after that became to wide to fit in the container, they now ship top deck with windscreen and tower installed on steel cradles. The boats are fully heat wrapped at the factory.

Id go roro, and mod the trailer here. Get someone to plastic heat wrap the entire boat. Watch out that most U.S trailers are not galvanized as they are mostly used in fresh water. An Easytow will set you back over 8g

On the other topic i started pharsyde with a guy called Tim. Where did you get the logo from, i dont even have a copy of it anymore, might have to get you to email it to me. Sold the truck to buy something to tow our first 210

yeah I thought it was you that started it with Tim, I use to go skate with Tim back in the day. He said the other guy in pharsyde was into boats and all.. I think I also know the guy that brought your old Hilux his name was michael (he wakeboards aswell) it was a bronze colour right?

btw.. I made a bunch of the window stickers maybe 20 or so (I have a vinyl cutter) and a few t-shirts iirc for the club that is how I got logo.

On the boat side I was hoping to get 1 landed here and on the water for 50K since i'm the only one funding this I don't really want to spend any more than that :grin: . There are a couple of 2000 air's for sale here just wanted a super if I could get for the same money :mrgreen:
