Anybody else get notice from CC regarding shower?

I got a letter from CC indicating that my 03' Super Sport had a shower installed and that I should not use the shower while the engine is running.

Seems odd that it's been 5 years now and I'm getting a notice to avoid using the shower while the engine is running.

I asked Whitelake about showers and David said that they are no longer an option from the factory due to the requirement of standing on the rear with the motor running. Apparently California has banned them. No manufacturers are offering them anymore. The letter is probably just a 'legal warning' so you will be aware of the danger from the exhaust and protect CC from liability.

I haven't seen CC's shower option but the ones that I have seen have been on Larger Rinker Cruiser and they don't have to have the engine running for it to operate or get hot water from them, so I don't understand why you say the engine needs to be running to use it on a CC.

Because they dont have hot water heaters. The motor is the source for the hot water.

igkya.....was it Correct Craft that notified you of that need?

If so, then that just shows how tightly linked Correct Craft is to their customers.

            Sorry...couldn't resist...

Yeah I got one for our 00 San that was sold 4 years ago. On the 08 230 I was told the same thing. But I needed one for the kids feet after playing on the beach. So i just ordered one and installed it my self. I guess I'm living on the EDGE!!! LOL

I have one factory installed on my 05 SV-211 and we love it. Nothing better to warm you up after an early spring or late fall run.

what the water's not hot inside of the block without the motor running?

Also I don't believe the hot water source is from the water heater on the models I've seen they have their own heat source and draw all of the water from the lake.

Ordered showers on my last two CC's, my notice arrived and was addressed to my former not current boat?

BobChris, the shower is a pump with a hose and spray nozzle coming from the regulator or dials for H & C flow, the pump is supplied hot from the block and cold is tapped off the raw water supply after the pump. They will work without the engine running but will quickly run dry or just trickle without any water supply. CC no longer offered the shower option after 2005 IIRC.

Maybe, I am out of the norm here...but we neer use our shower while the boat is running. You're usually standing on the platform while using it which at least for me is always an "engine off" time. I have known one too many people that got a lil too close to the prop. Plus, as was mentioned before CA made it against the law to be on the platform while the boat was moving. Too many carbon monoxide issues.

I thought you only used the shower hose to empress the girls, Quinner Yellow_Flash_Colorz:
