2002 SAN GT40 Pro Boss - Engine Revision

    Hi

In our area there is a SAN 2002 GT40 Pro Bos with 2100h - they say Boat is in a good shape, but the engine needs a revision.

Is 2000h the normal life for a GT40? Or does it mean they did not take care of it? Or just had bad luck?

What else should we check, if me make the decision to watch the boat? It could be our first boat ;-).

    Thanks a lot

    Cheers,
    KTM525

Umm 2000 hours is quite a few hours. I would check the compression first of. What shape isithe interior in?? I have heard of GT-40's with 3500 hours on them but thqt was a very picky person that was anal about maint. Is it a school boat?? If you are interested in it make sure you take it to a CC dealer and pay them to go over it very well. How much are they asking for it?? I'm not sure you would want it as your first baot since it has so many hours on it and could possibably be a maint hog. If it does need a new motor you should knock 6-7g off the price. Hope it goes well for you.

Thank you for the fast answer. I dont know yet if its a school boat - but it could be one. I think if they say "engine needs a revision" at the Swiss CC sales website - i'm shure the engine is not in a good condition ;-). They want to have 35k for the Boats (and yes, Boats are expensive in our country - a new 210 is little more then 100k) http://www.correctcraft.ch/de/occasionen.asp - i think on the second page .

Tower, Racks, Tanks, Perfect Pass Wakeboard Pro, Heater, Stereo CD, new Cover over Tower 2007

We are trying to get some new pictures of the boat, its 300km away :-/

If it was me, I would pass. That would be a good price with a good engine. Its you call, If you are thinking about it, you better check and see if you can even get that engine. I know its a ford 351w. I would get in writing what is wrong with it, how much it would cost to rebuild, and what the coast would be to put a new one in.

          KTM525.
That price is way to high if the Engine needs a rebuilt... You should find a nice 2002 SAN for around that price! Even in Swiss/Germany.
