Has anyone skied behind the 2008 196 with a tower? About to purchase one but have not been able to test drive. I don't think the wake will be that much different but it was a big problem for my friends mastercraft.

Here in the UK there are a lot of 196's with towers fitted.
I run an 04 and a friend has an 05.
Both boats are used for local tournaments without any complaints from the serious shortliners. -

I've skied behind a 2007 196 fitted with a monster tower. The wake may have been a touch firmer at longer line lengths than I recall that hull having, but that's relative to there not being much wake back there at all, so it's still spectacular.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.Comment
