SAN 210 vs. Crossover 211 for our Wakeboard School!

I'm starting a Wakeboard/Waterskis School here in Utah this summer. I'm trying to figure out which boat will be best. We will mostly be teaching wakeboarding, but we'll also teach a little bit of skiing.

Would the Crossover 211 be a better boat to go with because the wake would be less intimidating for beginners and intermediate riders? I have local pro's teaching and what them to be able to enjoy their time behind the boat as well.

What is surfing like behind the 211? We are going to hold surf sessions every few nights and want to have a good wake. I know it won't be as good as the SAN, but does anybody have any experience surfing behind a 211? Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Actually, the surf wake behind the 211 can be very nice. There are several members here who have gotten exceptional surf wakes out of the 211.

i get a pretty good surfwake out of the 211. it is the strongest feature of the boat imo.

I would really like to try the new 210 though with the wake plate for surfing.

I talked to a guy at West Coast Correct Craft and he had taught at a school in I think San Diego and he used 211s. They liked them because the wakeboard wake was less intimidating than a 210.

I run something very similar to you we use a 08 210 85%wakeboarders probably have 2-3 skiers a year.Have wakesurfed behind 210 no probs but if you are going on a50-50 I would probably go with a 211

I've ridden behind both and now own a 211. I agree that the 210 will discourage many noobies to the sport. The wake is a very hard to tame animal. Steep and agressive even with little or no ballast.

The 211 has a hydro gate which can mellow out the wake for the beginnig and intermediate riders. But fill those sacs and add a few peeps and you can get a pretty awsome wake for advanced riders. Besides, it's a crossover boat so you'll be able to accomodate even the occasional skier you'll get.

the 211 is a skiiable wake to me, of course im 6'6 260, so i plow right through it , the 07 210 has the steepest wake ive ever seen with the hydro gate on level 1, i would go with the 211 if your gonna teach skiing, my 2 cents

Well if it is a wakeboard school I would go with the 210, because you will get all different levels of wakeboarders not just newbs, some people just go to those schools to ride with new people and try something new. I have a new 210, and compared to the 06 and older boats the wake is not as intense, and with the hydrogate you can actually tame the wake quite a bit. When the gate is down the wake is actually extremely rampy and gentle much like the X-Star, the middle position is a good mix between vert and ramp, and the up position gives you all the vert you will need, minus the trough and the abrupt transition. The hyrdogate is not a wake plate in the traditional sense (Malibu Wedge), when it is down the wake is smaller than when it is up, when the plate is down is raises the butt of the boat out of the water, also the boat has a killer surf wake!
