New Boatmate tandem trailer... Need opinions on color

My new Boatmate tandem trailer is going into production this week. I need opinions on the trailer color. My boat is a 1996 Ski Nautique CB that is violet and black with silver cloud pin strips. Should I go matching with the trailer (violet) or plain old black?

    Vote on!

Black is the way that I am leaning. My father in law suggested a matching trailer, I think it is a little too much.

It was 2975 for the tandem trailer. It looks like black is my color! Glad I didn't change the color of my order!

Did you consider WHITE? Personally like the color matched trailers, Violet may look pretty good as well, at least it would be different.

Not really. I guess have black as one of the three colors so it would match. My concern with white is that it will look grungy quicker.

I would add violet pin striping to the basic black trailer on the top and bottom of the main rails and then across the lower front of the fender steps and the fenders. It will help tie the trailer to the boat without being overwhelming.

Why are you purchasing a new trailer, and why tandam for a ski nautique? Sorry if I missed that in another thread. BTW I like the idea of black with the matching pinstripe.

The boat has very minimal hours (74.4 when I bought it in Feb.) and is in like new condition. The problem is that the PO put the boat into the intercoastal a couple of times and then was diagnosed with cancer. The boat was not used for five years (engine was flushed with a flush kit regularly. No rust in block or exhaust manifolds. ). The trailer is in great condition except for one side (from front fender forward about 5 feet) where the water was trapped in the tubing. It rusted badly. I plan on trailering a lot and didn't want to risk a failure with such a nice boat.

In regards to tandem versus single, the single axle was 2500 bucks. Tandem at 2975. I tow with a limited wheelbase SUV (minivan?) Acura MDX. The extra set of disc brakes is nice also. Cost - Benefit was there. The Acura has enough power and a brand new transmission that I want to wear out under warranty. It gets over 23 MPG on the Highway and around 20 around town. I can't justify getting a more traditional truck with these fuel prices. It's the wife's car, I drive the hotrod Saturn station wagon.

I like the idea of violet pin stripping. I can't wait to get my new trailer so I can get up to the lake! Safely!

Have had 3 whites, 1 black and 1 blue, the white was not really a problem as long as it was taken care of.

You will like the twin axle, we have (4) discs on ours and it really stops well, the twin also goes straight down the road so much better. Did you go oil bath hubs? That is what is on ours and so far no issues. Ours also has the electronic brake lockout when reveresing which is nice.
