    Mirror mount queston

Hey folks, couldn't find the answers after lots of searching...

Is there a cheap way to re-mount the stock mirror in my 1990 SN to the top of the windshield? Curious if anyone has used simple hardware from the hardware store to complete this.

    Thanks in advance

        Thanks guys

Yep that is what I am talking about however I am looking for the jerry rig (read $5) mount. Was hoping that one of our resident MacGyver's would have an idea or two.

        Cheers

I may have an old one in the garage, but I'm concerned that if you can't cough up $25, how are you going to pay for gas?

I thought about making one in the past, but it would require a tubing bender and welder. I have a welder but a bender would have easily cost $100 plus. Even if you went with electrical conduit($5/piece ?), you would need a bender for it as well. Or if you have an electrician friend, you might could get him to do it. Then you'll still need a bracket, and you'll need to drive around to get everything done(gas money), paint,etc....

Bottom line, you are not going to make out cheaper on this one. Just order one, a good one. Its very annoying to have to deal with mirrors that won't stay put or vibrate.

IGKYA - I figured someone would burn me for being cheap :-) I like trying to design my own stuff though, sort of a MacGyver I suppose. I guess I will order one up. Thanks for the help

                Chief,
I found my old mount. D-bracket is fine but is missing the 2 set screws to tighten to windshield. PM me if interested.
