220 vs 230

Just traded in a 2005 SV211 TE, looking to get something bigger and something more dedicated to wakeboarding so I am looking at a 220 TE and or 230 TE.

I really like the capacity of the 230 TE but I also like boats that handle well and can get out of a hole well. I will not be getting the ZR6 motor because I can't justify another 45hp for $6,000!

Has anyone driven both? How do they compared? Any wake differences?

Love my 230 with the ZR-6 its a rocket out of the hole. But I have never driven a 220. What is the price difference? I love the seating of the 230 over the 220 but that is just my opinion. Seams like you can seat alot more in the 230. The 230 will suprise you for as well as it handles. I think it would hang with my loaded 00 SAN just fine.

Never been in a 220, but went with a buddy this weekend to demo a 230. Very nice boat. Wake is good and the zero off is incredible. To me that was the best feature on the whole boat. Awesome.

Absolutely. Especially in a big boat like the 230/236. Last year I ran both ZO and PP in my 236, and once we got the bugs worked out of ZO (it was a prototype design), I don't think I ever turned PP back on. The only time PP may have an advantage is when you're in a river with a current. ZO is releasing a firmware update to add that capability to their equipment though.

I heard from Travis Moye that he was already using ZO with the current feature... But he didn't used it yet... I hope somebody soon could be telling if and how it's working with this feature.

I wonder where Travis would use it. The lakes where he lives don't have a current. Maybe he is planning to try it on the tour this year.

That was also his comment... He's riding on a lake. But like you said, ZO is coming with an update soon on the ZO for riding in current.

Does he tour with his own boat?

I have both driven the 230 and 220, i have about 50 hours in the drivers seat of a 06 220 TE with the ZR-6, the boat doesnt seem very responsive out of the hole but will do exceptionally good on the long run. The 230 with the ZR-6 is a ROCKET out of the hole and will keep up with my 196 on takeoff. The 220 handles ok and isnt very keen on double - ups, the boat is solid in the water but when you plow through waves it shakes super bad. If i was you, i would definitly 100$ get a 230 with the ZR-6. I know that $6'000 is a lot for 45 horses but it sure will make a WORLD of difference.

One thing to remember is the props on the 08 230 with the power prop has less pitch than the 07 or earlier team props!
