I have a 94 Sport Nautique and wondered if it possible to make the seat swivel. Whenever we're just hanging out, everyone is facing toward the middle except me. I always find myself sitting weird in the seat or on the gunwale. I think some of the newer boats swivel, but I'm not sure.

RE: Swivel seat
The new ones do swivel. The problem with adding a swivel option to your boat is that I believe the seat is too close to the side of the boat for the swivel seat to function properly. Moving the seat out would throw off the positioning of the controls.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

RE: Swivel seat
I second Jeff on that one. Unless you have some excellent fabricating skills and can build a second track system so the seat can slide to port and then swivel, but chances are you'll just end up with a flimsy seat. How 'bout a little reverse action...

If space is tight on the side you may be able to slide the seat forward as you swivel.Previous:

MF01,
- I installed the two seat bases over a couple evenings. Was an easy install. Each base required 4 bolts for the seat and 8 screws for the floor. Mounting screws, bolts, washers, and nuts were not included.
- The bottom of my seat had a lip so I had to add a 1/2 plate so that the seat base would not catch on the lip. Did not find that out until after it was bolted to the seat.
- The locking handle that controls the slide action is tight to the floor. You have to turn this handle to loosen or tighten the slide action. Being tight to the floor makes it difficult to turn.
- I bought a project boat over the winter that was not to far from where I live. It is not a correct craft so I do not know if you will have the room needed to swivel the seat. The suggestion to mount offset may work. I would not want to offset it to far or it would likely allow the seat to wobble and act as a lever binding the slide and swivel mechanisms.

I am in the process of trying this out. I am doing something kinda like what diesel was explaining. the only issues I have so far is the off set of the seat. It looks kinda funny not being directly over the base. the other thing is if you go over too far it will not be stable, if you don't go over far enough it will still hit the throttle lever. i will post some pics when I get it done.

DO NOT DO THIS!!! My seat swiveled for about 5 min before I put it back the way it was. there are so many potential negatives with this. Dangerous because it still hits the throttle even when off set. Vinyl will wear over time from rubbing. I am so dissapointed because of time put into this. And for the fact that I really wanted this to work.
