I am seeing a lot of print on Zero Off. I just bought a MC 95 PROSTAR 190 and the seller upgraded to stargazer for me. Has anybody used both? I love this new PP system. How do the two compare?

I'm by no means a hard core tournament skier and am looking forward to skiing behind Zero Off at ski school this June to see if I can tell any difference at my level. Worth mentioning that there is an Update under warranty for SG that began shipping about two weeks or so ago. You just need to call PP. They take your credit card number as a deposit and send you a new module. You ship your old module back along with a copy of your shipping receipt. They reimburse shipping and you have no down time. I got my new module last week, but it had a bad capacitor, so they sent me another, which I picked up from FedEx this morning. Looking forward to skiing it.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

We SG installed in a buddy's 02 196 this last weekend. Set the baselines and skied. It was awesome! I love not worrying about the times anymore. The pull felt very similar to the PP 6.5ng. I'm saving my nickles and dimes to get it installed in my 05 196 as soon as possible.

Thanks east tx skiier and all for the responses. I just called PP and my new module is on the way. PP said it was a 3rd ball timing issue. I have run the SG in wakeboard mode in my ski boat while we are setting up magnets. The pull, speed control, etc. seems much better than the standard PP in my 211. I love it. I wounder if CC will switch back to Perfect Pass in the future?

i absolutely am in love with ZO, its awesome, not one beat off when i slalom, stargazer isnt as good in my opinion because it dosent get to the exact speed and stay there, it still has that little flicker, ex you put the set speed to 36, and floor it the boat jumps to 40 and slows down, none of that with ZO, 36 mph it will do 36 mph

I have both SG and ZO on my '08 196. A couple of us skied them back to back for two sets. Not nearly enought to come to a concrete conclusion. However, after running the LATEST version (P) of ZO, we found it difficult to even make a pass with SG. I'll post more after we do more testing.Promo Team member

It is a constant speed. It shoots you off the wake and makes the edge change simple. I am a big believer in carring speed and not slowing down at the ball. This seems to make life so much better out at the ball. When driving it felt like the old days of hand driving. You could here the engine rev a bit, but not a ton. I think that PP 6.5 reacted to to late to the skier. This system just stays at 34 and does not jump down to 33.5 or up to 35.5.Life long Nautique guy

We noticed today on short set-ups the Stargazer would start out at about 2 mph over the set time and adjust (slow down) about the time we went through the start gate. Granted, we are running in wakeboard because we have not set the magnets yet. I received my new module yesterday. Great service from PP, but does anybody know if the new module addresses this issue?

If you don't have the magnets in, try running it in gps mode or classic mode and put a negative rpm adjust in there. The system is designed to run about .3 mph fast until it gets the magnet input if I understand correctly.
WB mode has never been an rpm based system and I imagine it's still not. I never enjoyed skiing in speed mode on the older system because it never felt like it locked in like rpm mode/slalom mode did.
Unless you have the throttle just right to hit that magic number, I can understand why WB mode is overrunning the set point on a short setup.1998 Ski Nautique (Red/Silver Cloud), GT-40, Perfect Pass Stargazer 8.0z (Zbox), Acme #422, Tunable Rudder.

So now with SG you only need two magnets, isn't it?
I'm now with PP 6.4 and I was thinking to upgrade to SG. I'm tired of loosing magnets and I like the idea of only two magnets in the course but as it seems there are problems with this first units of SG maybe I'll wait some months
What do you think East tx?
